Frosted Bouquet

I used the largest, plain, Layering Circles Die to cut the circle from Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I used  the largest, scalloped, Layering Circles Die to cut the border from Smoky Slate Cardstock.

Next, I embossed the Whisper White circle with the Subtle Textured Embossing folder, and glued the two together.

“Merry Christmas” is from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp Set. I stamped it in Smoky Slate Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting.

The flowers, leaves and sprigs were made with the First Frost Stamp Set, and Frosted Bouquet Die Set. I stamped the flowers in Lovely Lipstick Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and used the two dies for cutting.  The leaves were cut from Old Olive Cardstock, and the sprigs from Sparkle Glimmer Paper.

For the background, I embossed Whisper White Cardstock with the Scripty Embossing Folder, and layered this on a Thick Whisper White card base.

Before gluing the bouquet together, I gave the leaves extra sparkle, using two, new products from the Holiday Catalog. First, I spread Shimmery Crystal Effects over the leaves, followed by a sprinkling of Ice Stampin’ Glitter.

Today’s card was inspired by two challenges. The colors are from Global Design Project.

Rainbow Candles

The important feature of this birthday card should not be overlooked…..the sentiment.

I stamped “Count the good times, not the candles!” in Memento Black Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting. Beneath it is “Happy Birthday” from the Itty Bitty Greetings stamp set, cut with a Merry Christmas Die, repeated four times.

I embossed, just a section, of the Thick Whisper White card base with the Swirls & Curls Embossing Folder, and raised the words on Dimensionals.

Now, for my curvy, rainbow candles. They were made with two dies from the Bouquet Bunch Die Set.

First, I colored a rainbow of Stampin’ Blends across Thick Whisper White Cardstock. The picture shows you how I cut them with the die.

Next, I used the “leaf” die to cut flames from Pineapple Punch Cardstock.

Finally, I glued the candles to the smooth card front, popped the flames up on Dimensionals, and my card was complete. I couldn’t resist taking one more, sunlit, photo.

I was inspired by two challenges. The “toppings” at Seize the Birthday is candles.

And, my layout is from CAS(E) this sketch.

Playful Penguins Gift Tags

What would look cute on a gift tag? A penguin, of course!

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Playful Penguins Stamp Set, Beautiful Layers Dies, Wrapped In Plaid DSP, Banner Triple Punch, Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set; #gifttags #christmastags #tags #handmade #handcrafted #diy #penguins #penguinsoncards #playfulpenguins #nopeeking #cardchallenges

Penguin Gift Tags

My idea began with two pieces of Thick Whisper White Cardstock, 2″ X 5 1/4″, and the Beautiful Layers Die Set.  I used one die to cut the top section, and another die to cut the sides.

Next, I used the Banner Triple Punch to cut the bottom, which worked perfectly at 2″.

My penguins are from the Playful Penguins Stamp Set, which I stamped in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. After fussy cutting the penguins, I placed them on Dimensionals.

Behind the penguins are strips of Wrapped In Plaid Designer Paper, 1 1/4″ X  3 3/4″.

The penguins are standing on a square, cut with a Layering Squares Die, and stamped with a sentiment from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set. “No peeking til Christmas” is stamped in Cherry Cobbler Ink

Sometimes you just need a simple “To” and “From,” which is also in the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set.

The ribbon tied at the top is retired, but any 1/4″ ribbon would fit through the holes. I added a bow of Whisper White Baker’s Twine.

I was inspired to make gift tags, because of the TGIF challenge.

New Wonders Birthday Fairy

Welcome to the Paper Players challenge, with a sketch that is sure to inspire you!

Featuring: New Wonders Stamp Set, Pressed Petals Designer Paper, Stitched Shapes Dies, Stampin' Blends; #birthdaycards #fairies #fairiesoncards #newwonders #stampinblends #alcoholmarkers #pressedpetals #handmadecards #diy #handcrafted #cardmaking #hostsets #hostesssets #stampinup

Birthday Fairy

If you follow my blog, you know that the Pressed Petals Designer Paper is among my favorites.

I used the largest, square, Stitched Shapes Die to cut the beautiful floral print, and beneath the square is a 4″X 2″ piece of the burlap paper. I glued the burlap paper to a layer of 4″X 5 1/4″ Very Vanilla Cardstock, which is glued to a Thick Very Vanilla card base. The Pressed Petals, floral print, is layered for thickness, and raised on Dimensionals.

Now for the cute, New Wonders fairy, my focal point! First, I stamped her in Early Espresso Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, and used my Paper Snips for fussy cutting.

I colored the fairy with Light Stampin’ Blends: Soft Suede (hair) Ivory (skin) Cherry Cobbler (dress) Old Olive and Smoky Slate (pen).

TIP: Use tiny dots with the brush end, so it doesn’t bleed over the lines. Take your time, and reading glasses help a lot!

I raised the fairy on Dimensionals, so she could write “Happy Birthday” (from her New Wonders Stamp Set) in Early Espresso Ink.

If you think this fairy is as cute as I do, and you’d like to order the stamp set, clicking on this picture will explain how to order it. Plus, all of today’s supplies are in my Product List below.

I can’t wait to see what you do with this sketch!

White Heart On Purple Lace

Today’s design began with a piece of Purple Posy Cardstock cut with the Stitched Lace Dies.

By Su Mohr for FMS; Click READ or VSIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Stitched Lace Dies, Be Mine Stitched Dies, Frosted Bouquet Dies, Country Floral embossing, Perennial Essence DSP; #friendshipcards #sympatheycards #stitchedlace #frostedbouquet #beminestitched #heartsoncards #thinkingofyou #handmadecards $handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #cardchallenges #cardsketches #stampinup

My Heart

After placing the lace on a Highland Heather card base, I found a solid leaf in the Frosted Bouquet Die Set. To give the leaves color and texture, I cut the leaves from a piece of Perennial Essence Designer Paper, and layered them for thickness.

Next, I used a Be Mine Stitched Die to cut the heart from Thick Whisper White Cardstock. The Country Floral Embossing Folder gave the heart its wonderful pattern.

The sentiment, “Thinking of you,” is from the Colorful Seasons Stamp Set, stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting, and placed it according to the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.

The last detail was adding three In-Color Faceted Dots in Purple Posy.

Snowman Season Holiday Card

This snowman makes a wonderful, heartwarming, focal point for today’s holiday card.

By Su Mohr for GDP; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Snowman Season Stamp Set, Layering Squares Dies, Snowman Builder Punch, Feels Like Frost DSP, Stampin' Blends; #christmascards #holidaycards #snowmanseason #snowmanpunch #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #snowmanoncards #cardchallenges #casethedesigner

Heartwarming Snowman

I made the snowman with the Snowman Builder Punch and the Snowman Season Stamp Set. First, I stamped the snowman in memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, then punched him out with his coordinating punch. Next, I stamped his stick arms and hat, punched them out, and glued them in place.

I colored the snowman and hat with Stampin’ Blends, using the colors in my Product List.

The snowman’s scene was created with Feels Like Frost Designer Paper, layered on a Seaside Spray card base.

Prior to layering the DSP, I used a layering Squares Die to cut a square in the middle of the snowy scene. Then, I used a second, scalloped, Layering Squares Die to cut a Whisper White frame.

After raising the square, and snowman on Dimensionals, my card front just needed a sentiment. “Let it snow” from the Snowman Season stamp set seemed a perfect fit. You can see it in the first and second pictures, stamped in Seaside Spray Ink for subtlety.

I continued the sentiment on the inside, stamping “Hoping this season builds heartwarming memories,” in Blueberry Bushel Ink.

The last detail was decorating the envelope with a 5″ 3/4″ X 2″1/4″ piece of Feels Like Frost DSP.

Tip: Add liquid glue to the flap, place the DSP, then trim the excess with Paper Snips.

I was inspired by Global Design Project, case the designer, Manuela Geiswinkler.

I appreciate you stopping by. If you need this heartwarming snowman for your holiday cards, it can be ordered at my store by clicking on the Snowman Season picture in my Product List. Thank you!

P.S. I almost forgot to mention, I borrowed the pile of snow the snowman is resting on from the Playful Penguins Stamp Set.
