Under The Moon for Global Design Project 457

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Misty Moonlight, Summer Splash, and Daffodil Delight. I decided to make a masculine, birthday card, with the Under The Moon Stamp Set. Was my stamp set choice influenced by the names of the colors, Misty Moonlight and Summer Splash?

First, using a Spotlight On Nature Die, I cut a circle from Basic White Cardstock.  Then, I stamped a round, Under The Moon stamp in Misty Moonlight Ink on the white circle. This was followed by stamping the “ocean” in Summer Splash Ink, and placing it beneath the circle. To add the color Daffodil Delight, I colored the moon with a Stampin’ Blend. The jumping dolphins were stamped in Misty Moonlight Ink.

Jumping Dolphins

Next, I cut a second circle with another Spotlight On Nature Die, and attached the two together with Dimensionals. They were glued to Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, which was glued to a Summer Splash card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to gluing, I embossed the white layer with the So Swirly Embossing Folder, to mimic ocean water.

A “wavy” sentiment seemed appropriate, and I found the label in Adoring Hearts Dies. After cutting, I used an Adoring Hearts stamp to stamp “just for you” in Misty Moonlight Ink, and attached it with Dimensionals.

I was inspired by this week’s color combination. Look for all of the Global Design Project Designers on Facebook and Instagram. Share your design and tag #GDP457 to play along with this challenge. You could be chosen as the winner!

Gold Mercury Leaves

The Changing Leaves Bundle, with its Hybrid Embossing Folder is amazing! You can’t miss the leaves on today’s card, cut from Gold Mercury Vellum. They were cut from the specialty paper, and embossed at the same time, while rolling through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Stampin’ Up! has made several of these “hybrid” sets, and they are so much fun to use.

Gold Mercury Leaves

For the background, I chose Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper in Fall colors, 3 7/8″ X 5 3/8″. This was glued to a Wild Wheat card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Prior to gluing, I used a Deckled Circles Die to cut a circle, 3 1/4″. After backing the circle with cardstock for thickness, I raised it over the “hole” on Dimensionals.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Copper Clay Ink on Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper. Then, I used a Deckled Circles Die for cutting, added a layer for thickness, and attached it with Dimensionals. “Thank you” is one of the sentiments in the Changing Leaves Stamp Set. You can get a close-up look at the bundle by clicking on the picture in my Product List below.

After gluing the leaves in place, I added some Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins for additional sparkle. You can really see the embossing in this photo. Isn’t it great?

Merriest Tree in Winter Meadow

Winter Meadow Tree

The background was created with Winter Meadow Designer Paper, which is in Stampin’ Up’s paper sale that begins August 6 (see details below). I cut three pieces in monochromatic colors, and glued them to a Pretty Peacock card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. After gluing, I embossed the card front with the Snowflake Sky Embossing Folder.

To complete my design, I cut the base for the tree, and a star, from a Silver Foil Sheet. Then, I glued them to the tree, and attached the tree with Dimensionals.

Nests Of Winter for August 1

Welcome to August, and one of my favorite suites in the September-December 2024 Mini Catalog, Nests Of Winter. See more news about the catalog below.

Today’s card uses the wonderful designer paper, Nests Of Winter. It was simple to cut this pattern, 3 5/8″ X 4 7/8″, and layer it on Basic Gray Cardstock, 3 3/4″ X 5″. Then, it was glued to a Gray Granite card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Nests Of Winter

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, used an Everyday Details Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. “Thinking of you always” is in the Winterly Tree Tops Stamp Set, part of the suite.

To complete the card, I fussy cut (cut by hand) a bird from Nests Of Winter DSP, and attached her next to the sentiment label with Dimensionals. And, I added three Gray Pearls for embellishment.

Key to My Heart

I was thinking about the expression, “you have the key to my heart,” and today’s card was created with that in mind. I began by using two Friends For Life Dies to cut a heart and leaves from Full Of Life Designer Paper.

By Su Mohr: Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Friends For Life Dies, Full Of Life DSP, Trusty Tools Dies, Hearts & Hugs Stamp Set; #friendsforlife #fulloflife #hearts #heartsoncards #keytomyheart #trustytools #keys #hansdmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #crafting #stampinup #sumohr #artisandesignteam#sumohr

Key to My Heart

I used a third Friends Forever Die to cut the sentiment label from Thick Basic White Cardstock. Then, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink, and placed it on Dimensionals. “So it’s there when you need it” is from the Hearts & Hugs Stamp Set

I found the important ingredient, the key, in the Trusty Tools Die Set, and cut it from a Silver Foil Sheet. After layering it with cardstock for thickness, I glued it on the sentiment label.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, glued to a Berry Burst card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.  Before gluing, I gave the white layer a spray of color, using my Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blend. As a final touch, three Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins were attached.

Citrus Blooms Wreath for Global Design Project 456

This week’s Global Design Project is to CASE the designer, which happens to be me. That means ” copy and selectively edit” a card I designed last May. I would love to see how you case my card; just use #GDP456, and post on Facebook or Instagram.

For my CASE, I used Citrus Blooms Dies for a wreath surrounding the sentiment. I also duplicated the colors, using ink with Blending Brushes, creating lighter shades.

By Su Mohr for GDP456; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Citrus Blooms Dies, Friends For Life Dies; #friendsforlife #citrusblooms #gdp456 #case #caseingthedesigner #sumohr #handmadecards #handcrafted #crafting #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #artisandesignteam #stenciling

Friendship Wreath

First, I used a Citrus Booms Die to cut the wreath from Basic White Cardstock 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″.  Using the die-cut as a stencil, I placed it against Basic White Cardstock, the same size. Then, I applied Mossy Meadow Ink and Lost Lagoon Ink with Blending Brushes. After coloring, I used another Citrus Blooms Die to cut the outside border. This was attached, with Dimensionals, to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I applied Petal Pink Ink to Basic White Cardstock, and used a Friends For Life Die to cut the word “friend.” Basic White Cardstock was used to cut the “frame” around “friend,” which enabled me to raise the word on Dimensionals.

The “star blossoms” were cut with Citrus Blooms Dies from scraps of paper colored with the Blending Brushes. I glued them in place, adding Iridescent Pearls, and dotting the “i” on friends.
