Windmill Fields Bicycle Ride

In case you haven’t noticed, there is a fabulous bicycle in the Windmill Fields Die Set. It would look good in any color, so I decided to use it in the three colors for this week’s TGIF color challenge: Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, and Soft Sea Foam. After one time through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, the bicycles had the intricate pieces so perfectly intact, I left them that way. Two times through would have removed the pieces, and it’s really cute that way also.

Bicycle Ride

For the background, I began with a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The sky is Simply Marbleous Designer Paper, 5 1/2″ X 2 1/4″, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. I used the same die to cut the roadway from Pattern Party Designer Paper, 5 1/2″ X 1 1/2″.

Next, I cut the row of tulips, also a Windmill Fields Die, from Basic White Cardstock. After gluing the sky and roadway to the card front, meeting at the middle, I glued the row of flowers, which covered the seam.

The sentiment, “Driving by just to say hi,” is from the Driving By Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the Messages Die for cutting. This is an unusual die, because all of the labels are attached, and meant to be cut at the same time. I prefer using it with one sentiment at a time, and place my stamped sentiment on a small piece of paper beneath one label for cutting. It has a great variety of sizes, which you can see in my Product List Below.

The Driving By Stamp Set, and Simply Marbleous Designer Paper, are two Sale-a-bration items you can choose for FREE with a qualifying order.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Friendly Hello Vertical Birthday Card

The Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set has a great vertical sentiment, “Happy Birthday,” and it came in handy with today’s card.

I began by fussy cutting some pretty, Petal Pink Flowers from Friendly Hello Designer Paper, and placed them on Dimensionals. Then, I used a Scalloped Contours Die to give a detailed edge to another pattern of Friendly Hello Designer Paper, 2″ X 5″.

Vertical Happy Birthday

Next, I cut Basic White cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 5″, and embossed the left side, 1 3/4″, with a Greenry Embossing Folder. Then, I glued the scalloped, Petal Pink paper on on the right side, and the entire piece on a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“Happy Birthday” was just waiting to be stamped in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and cut with an Ornate Layers Die. I attached it to the embossed side of the card front with Dimensionals. And, the flowers danced down the center of the card.

For a touch of sparkle, I added three Iridescent Rhinestones, my new, favorite, embellishment.

New Horizons Aurora Borealis

I haven’t seen the aurora borealis in person, but from pictures I’ve seen, this New Horizons Designer Paper made me think of it. After trimming the New Horizons Paper to 4″ X 5 1/4″, I used a Majestic Mountain Die to cut the tree from Rainbow Glimmer Paper.

Bt Su Mohr for FMS; Featuring: New Horizons DSP, Majestic Mountains Dies, Natyre's Harvest Stamp Set, Rainbow Glimmer Paper, Windmill Fields Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies; #auroraborealis #majesticmountains #naturesharvest #rainbowglimmerpaper #newhorizons #windmillfields #stitchedrectangles #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stamping #stampinup #cardsketches #sympathycards

Aurora Borealis

Prior to gluing the scene to a Night Of Navy card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) I used three Windmill Fields Dies to cut the clouds from the designer paper. Then, I raised the clouds on Dimensionals for added interest. It’s so easy to make beautiful cards with this paper, I had to do something to make it more complicated. LOL.

I found this sentiment in the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, which seemed perfect: “Sending healing thoughts, may nature’s beauty bring peace to your soul.” I stamped it in Night Of Navy Ink on New Horizons DSP, used two Stitched Rectangles Dies for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. I took a picture, so you could see how I made the stitched shape fit the sentiment.

Nature has a way of making us feel better, doesn’t it?

Always In My Heart Anniversary Card

This is a special anniversary card, because it’s for my husband. We met on an airplane 40 years ago, and celebrated our 36th wedding anniversary February 1st. What are the chances!

Men like wood, so I began with In Good Taste Designer Paper, and used a Floral Heart Die for cutting the heart. Then, I used this same die to cut the foliage surrounding the heart from Expressions in Ink Designer Paper. I love the flecks of gold and color variation.

By Su Mohr; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Always In My Heart Stamp Set, Floral Heart Dies, In Good Taste DSP, Expressions In Ink DSP; #anniversarycards #alwaysinmyheart #floralheartdies #expressionsinink #ingoodtaste #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com #stampinup #stamping #heartsoncards

Happy Anniversary

Next, I glued these to Basic White Cardstock that was cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. And, this layer was glued to an Old Olive card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The banner across the heart was created with another Floral Heart Die. First, I shaped “Happy Anniversary,” from the Always In My Heart Stamp Set, on the Stamparatus. I was able to do this because the photopolymer stamps bend nicely. Second, I stamped the sentiment in Early Espresso Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Third, I used the die for cutting, folded on the sore lines, and glued the banner in place.

For the inside, I stamped “You had me at hello” in Pear Pizzazz Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the die for cutting. I glued the heart to the inside layer of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. The sentiment is a perfect expression of how I felt when he sat next to me on that airplane 40 years ago.

Catching Hearts for Happiness

The Catching Butterflies girl is so cute, but some people don’t enjoy coloring. So, I challenged myself to create a cute card, leaving the girl black and white.

I stamped the girl in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the 5th largest Diorama Die for cutting. I love how she fits perfectly in this shape! Then, I used the 4th largest Diorama Die to cut Simply Marbleous Designer Paper, giving her a frame.

Catching Hearts

For the background, I used the largest Diorama Die to cut a newsprint pattern of Vellum Layering Designs. This is a fun, new, paper, which you can click on in my Product List below, for more details.

I glued the Vellum newsprint to Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.  This layer was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and the framed girl was attached with Dimensionals.

The pretty, stitched, hearts were cut from Sweet Talk Designer Paper with a Bouquet Of Love Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

The sentiment is also from the Catching Butterflies Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, and used a Bouquet Of Love Die for cutting.

Whether you like to color, or not, you need this set. You’ll notice in my product List, the price is ZERO. That’s because it is a Sale-a-bration item; FREE with a qualifying order of $50.

Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks

Stenciling is so much fun! For my first card in February, I used the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks. That’s a mouthful! But, it’s a great product, and the one I chose to be my Host Code Gift for the month of February. You can see the details below.

By Su Mohr for PP; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks, Pattern Party Designer Paper, Special Moments Stamp Set, Flowering Fields Designer Paper, Medium Envelopes; #birthdaycards #butterflies&flowerslayeringdecorativemasks #stenciling #stencilingoncards #masks #cardtechniques #butterfliesoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #decoratingenvelopes #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stamping #stampinup #cardchallenges #squarecards #tictactoe

Masked Butterfly

I began by attaching the floral patterned mask to the “open” butterfly mask, with Painters Tape, on top of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 4″. Then, using Sponge Daubers, I colored the butterfly with three colors of ink: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, and Mango Melody. I took precaution by putting tape over the mask designs, close to my butterfly, that I didn’t want to daub on.

Next, I stamped “Happy Birthday” from the Special Moments Stamp Set, one of the FREE Sale-a-bration items with a qualifying purchase. You can see all 21 sentiments in my Product List. Because I wanted to make sure the sentiment stamped perfectly, I used the Stamparatus.

To make the bright colors in the butterfly pop, I added a black and white border, using Pattern Party Designer Paper, 4 1/8″ X 4 1/8″. The layers were glued together on a Thick Basic White card base, 4 1/4″ X 4 1/4″. I made a square card a few days ago, and thought this was a good shape for the butterfly.

This 4 1/4″ X 4 1/4″ square card fits in our Medium Envelopes, even though there’s some room left over. While I was thinking about it, I decorated the flap of an envelope with Flowering Fields Designer Paper. It was easy to cut a 5 3/4″ X 2 3/8″ piece of designer paper, glue it to the envelope flap, and trim the excess, using the flap as a template. You can see the envelope in the first photo.

I was inspired by the Paper Players. Can you see I played the bottom row across?
