It’s time for another Paper Pumpkin alternative. What is Paper Pumpkin? It’s Stampin’ Up’s monthly kit that is all inclusive.
The kits come with instructions, but the supplies in the kit can go beyond the designed project, known as “Paper Pumpkin alternatives.” The card I designed for today is a Paper Pumpkin alternative from December’s kit, Beary Comforting.

Isn’t this bear adorable? She wanted to be called Happy, because she said she’d bring happiness to every home she enters. She came from a stamp in the kit, and is a slightly smaller bear than the punch-out version that comes in the kit. The punch-out koalas that come in the kit are super cute too!
I stamped Happy in Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and colored her with Stampin Blends: Light and Dark Crumb Cake and Ivory, plus Flirty Flamingo cheeks.
Happy giggled as I fussy cut her outline, and she loved being attached with Dimensionals to Mint Macaron Cardstock. This layer was cut with a Stitched Rectangles Die (2 1/4″ X 3 1/2″).

Happy “for you”
Happy asked for a floral background that would go with Mint Macaron, as well as bring out the pink in her cheeks. We found this pretty, Ornate Garden print, which I cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die, and layered it on Whisper White Cardstock, for a 1/16″ border. Then, this was glued to a Mint Macaron card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Finally, Happy wanted to hold a heart, and we found one just the right size in the Be Mine Stitched Die Set, cut from Whisper White Cardstock. “For you” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set, stamped in Rococo Rose Ink, and attached with a Dimensional.

Stampin’ Blends can provide hours of coloring fun, and that’s what happened with today’s card. It took about an hour to color our soon-to-be-released, black and white, True Love Designer Paper. It’s a wonderful experience, if you love coloring, but not recommended if you aren’t so inclined.
This designer paper is on page 11 in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and can be ordered January 5, 2021. The paper I used for photographing is True Love Designer Paper also.

True Love Color
My colors were determined by the color challenge at Fab Friday. I substituted Flirty Flamingo for Blushing Bride, and Old Olive for Pear Pizzazz, since I didn’t have the exact colors in Stampin’ Blends.

After cutting a 4″ X 5 1/4″ section of True Love Designer Paper, I used Light Seaside Spray to color the area around all of the flowers. I tried to keep an even movement without going over what I colored, because it gets darker the second time it’s colored.
Next, I colored the leaves; first with Light Old Olive, then the base of the leaves and some veining with Light Shaded Spruce, and a second time with Light Old Olive.
The flowers vary with shades of Light and Dark Poppy Parade and Flirty Flamingo, but always with the lighter shade first, followed by the darker shade, and ending with the lighter shade. I colored one flower at a time for easier blending. The centers of the flowers are Light Old Olive.

I glued my colored, True Love Designer Paper, to a Seaside Spray card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) blending with the background of the flowers.
Since I always need thank you cards, I decided on this sentiment from the Someone Special Stamp Set. It was stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink, cut with an Ornate Frames Die from Whisper White Cardstock, and attached with Dimensionals.

Here is another card using True Love Designer Paper that I posted a few days ago. You can click on it for the details.

I LOVE making Valentines, so once Christmas cards are mailed, I get carried away with hearts!

Love You Lots
The first thing I did for today’s card was cut a heart from the beautiful, Berry Delightful Designer Paper. This paper is from Sale-a-Bration, which will be available January 5, 2021, and the die is from the current, Be Mine Stitched Dies.
The heart die cuts a plain heart and a scalloped edge at the same time. I used Thick Whisper White Cardstock to cut a second heart, backing the strawberry heart for thickness (attached with Dimensionals) and adding a scalloped white border (glued flat).

Next, I cut a rectangle from Whisper White Cardstock, using the largest, Stitched So Sweetly Die, and embossed it with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder.
Prior to embossing, I stamped, “love you lots” in Real Red Ink, from the Festive Corners Stamp Set. It’s nice that the texture doesn’t interfere with the legibility of the writing.
This has been one of my favorite stamp sets from the August to December 2020 Mini Catalog, and it’s retiring. Don’t you “love” the corner sentiment?” You can see the complete set in my Product List below, and clicking on the picture takes you to my store for ordering.

I used the second largest, Stitched So Sweetly Die, to cut from Subtles 6X6 Designer Paper in a Blushing Bride print. Then, I cut this rectangle in half, and glued the two pieces to the back sides of the white rectangle.
The background is Fine Art Floral Designer Paper (5 1/4″ X 4″) embossed with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder, glued to a Thick Whisper White card base (8 1/2″ X 5/1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″). The Floral Art Designer Paper is in the new January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, available January 5, 2021.

I was inspired by Freshly made Sketches.

Today’s Global Design Project is the final one for 2021; a two week challenge. I used retiring, and current products, plus a new tool, Blending Brushes.

Peace on earth
I began by using Blending Brushes to color Whisper White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 4″) with Balmy Blue Ink and Highland Heather Ink. The Blending Brushes are a new item in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog (#153611), and will be available January 5th. They are so soft, and easy to clean by rinsing with water, you’re going to love them!
Next, I cut Thick Whisper White Cardstock (5 1/4″ X 2″) with a Birds & More Die, and glued it across the top of my colored layer. Doesn’t it have a pretty edge?

The card base is Thick Whisper White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
“Peace” was made with two Joy Dies, Silver Foil, Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and attached with Mini Dimensionals. The coordinating stamp set, Peace & Joy, provided the words “on earth” that I stamped in Balmy Blue Ink. The two “peace” dies are shown in the first photo.
Finally, the five bells were made with a Sounds Of The Season Die, Silver Foil, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.

Here is Kerstin’s gorgeous card that we used for inspiration. You can click on it to see how the other GDP designers used Kerstin’s idea.

The stamp set and two die sets that were used for the sentiment are in the Year-End Closeout Sale.

Dec 20, 2020 | Gallery, Hand-Crafted Cards, TGIF |
Today’s card features the Mountain Air Bundle and Mr. Moose, coming together in a Christmas card.
Mr. Moose is walking next to a tree, cut from Mossy Meadow Cardstock, with a Majestic Mountain Die. I cut a second tree from Thick Whisper White Cardstock, and glued them together with the white tree a smidge higher. Voila! snow on the branches.

Majestic Mountain Moose
The background scene began by stamping a mountain range from the Mountain Air Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow Ink, and cutting with a Majestic Mountain Die.
The distant mountain range, in Whisper White, was cut with another die in the set, and glued together on Whisper White Cardstock.

Next, I used the second largest Layering Ovals Die for cutting the oval. It was a little difficult cutting through the layers of mountains, but I managed.
The border was cut from Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper, with the largest, scalloped, Layering Ovals Die.

“Merry Christmas” is from the Cherish The Season Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink, and cut with a Majestic Mountain Die, upside down. Mr. Moose needed solid ground for walking.
I punched the moose twice from Early Espresso Cardstock, glued him together for thickness, and gave him furry texture with the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder.

Sadly, we’ll be saying goodbye to Mr. Moose, because he is retiring. You can order him by clicking on his picture in my Product List below. But, don’t delay, because he is on the “low inventory” list, and when he’s gone, he’s gone.
You can see the entire, retiring list, by clicking here. The list is long, but to make it easier, it’s in order by page number (August-December 2020 Mini Catalog).

I was inspired by TGIF.

The soon-to-be released Stampin’ Up! catalog has some spectacular suites, and Fine Art Floral is one of them! Today’s card uses just few of the items, which I’ll describe for you. I’ll also provide product numbers, so you’ll be ready to order when they’re available, January 5, 2021.

Angled Art
The first thing I did was cut a piece of the fabulous Fine Art Floral Designer Paper (#154558), using the largest, right angle, Stitched Triangles Die. Then, I cut two 6″ X 1/2″ strips of designer paper; the red pattern from Fine Art Floral, and the dots from True Love (#154281).
The paper I used for photographing is the backside of the floral triangle on my card. Stampin’ Up’s designer paper is truly amazing.

Next, I glued the three papers on Whisper White Cardstock, 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″. This is the same size as the card front, and you want the 1/2″ strips to hang over the edge a bit, because the next step is to use the largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. This gives you a nice, even, stitched, edge to glue to the Blushing Bride card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“I’m thinking of you” is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set (#154421), stamped in Memento Black Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I used a Floral Gallery Die (#154316) for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals. Don’t you love the perforated edge?
The stamp set and die set are offered in the Art Gallery Bundle for a 10% savings (#156227). You’ll want to check out the entire suite (#155982) on pages 32-34 of the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog.
The dots to the right and left of the sentiment are from the Swirly Frames Stamp Set, a current item in the Annual Catalog. The current supplies are in my Product List below.

I was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch.
