True Beauty for Global Design Project 365

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Soft Succulent, Petal Pink, and Sweet Sorbet. See what our designers created, then hang your design in our gallery.

For this color combination, I chose the True Beauty Stamp Set, and stamped the stem with leaves in Soft Succulent Ink on Basic White Cardstock.  Next, using the Stamparatus, I colored the flower stamp with Sweet Sorbet and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends, and stamped on Basic White Cardstock. This is called the “ink to stamp” technique.

Framed Flower

After coloring, I used their Organic Beauty Dies for cutting, and glued them to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. To achieve the “frosted glass” look, I covered the flower with Vellum Layering Designs, 3 1/2″ X 4 1/2″, secured by a frame.

The frame was cut from Basic White Cardstock with a Fabulous Frames Die.

“Just because” is from the True Beauty Stamp Set. Don’t you love the font? I stamped it in  Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used a Potted Succulents Die for cutting. After attaching it with Mini Dimensionals, my framed flower card was complete.

Slimline Card of Christmas Trees for Global Design Project 364

This week’s Global Design Project is to CASE Madeleine Mrotzek and her inspiring card. I love her slimline design and bright colors. Won’t you join in the fun, and hang your design in our gallery?

The slimline design was easily accomplished with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 7″, folded at 3 1/2″. Then I added a layer of Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/4″ X 3 1/4″.

Next, using a Happy Forrest Die, I cut trees from five colors of Cardstock: Tahitian Tide, Parakeet Party, Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya, and Flirty Flamingo.

“Oh, Christmas tree”

After cutting the trees, I used a Trees For Sale stamp to stamp trees in the same ink colors across the white layer. Before gluing the die-cut trees next to the stamped trees, I flicked a Black Stampin’ Blend brush against the lid to add a spray of dots.

The sentiment, “Christmas Greetings,” is from the Trees For Sale Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, fussy cut, and attached it with Dimensionals. The last detail was stamping stars from the Trees For Sale Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink.

Cottage Wreaths for Global Design Project 363

Stampin’ Up’s World Card Making Event was Saturday, and it was fantastic! At the end of the event, a surprise announcement was made: FREE SHIPPING coming soon!!! Get your wish lists ready, so you can take advantage of free shipping tomorrow, Tuesday, October 4th!

This week’s Global Design Project is a “spooky” challenge. October 31st is Halloween in the United States, so it’s time to get out those “spooky” supplies. See what our designers created, then add your design to our gallery.

I began with the scary spider from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set, stamping it in Memento Black Ink, and using its Cottage Wreaths Die for cutting. The spiders are raised on Mini Dimensionals.

There is a very versatile wreath in the Cottage Wreaths Bundle, which I added to my Halloween card. I cut rounds of leaves from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Cardstock, and a bow from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock, and glued them together.

Spooky Spiders

The background is Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, 4″ X 5″, cut with a Split Card Texture Die. This layer is glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

To add to the “spookiness,” I stamped “BOO!” from the Cottage Wreaths Stamp Set in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used a Ranunculus Die for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals.

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge, which is always a great source of inspiration. See what our designers created, then add your design to our gallery!

For today’s card, I began by stamping the birthday pig in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and using his Playful Piggy Die for cutting. The image was easy to color with Stampin’ Blends in four colors: Ivory, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight and Parakeet Party. After coloring, I attached the pig with Dimensionals.

Next, I stamped the sentiment in Memento Black Ink, used its Playful Piggy Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. Then, mimicking the sketch, I glued five, For Everything Fancy Sequins, in place.

The crooked newsprint in the background is actually Layering Vellum Designs, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. It is secured to the Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) by adding glue beneath the pig, the sentiment, and the sequins. I used this trick to keep the glue from showing.

Soft Seedlings for Global Design Project 361

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Parakeet Party, Shaded Spruce, and Flirty Flamingo.

By Su Mohr for GDP 361; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Soft Seedings Stamp Set, Layering Circles Dies, Deckled Rectangles Dies; #softseedlings #layeringcircles #deckledrectangles #leaves #leavesoncards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #colorcombos #colorchallenges #cardchallenges #sumohr #gdp361 #stamping #stampinup

In the Round

My design began with a large, pink, circle. First, I cut two pieces of Basic White Cardstock, 41/4″ X 5 1/2″, making a template with one by using the largest Layering Circles Die to cut a hole. Masking Tape was applied to hold the two in place, while using a Blending Brush with Flirty Flamingo Ink.

It’s fun removing the template to see a perfectly inked circle!

Next, I stamped the leaf image from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set in Parakeet Party Ink and Shaded Spruce Ink. on Basic White Cardstock.  After fussy cutting the leaves, I had the idea to cut the top portion of the leaves with the Layering Circles Die, to make them fit within the circle.

Once the leaves were positioned in the circle, I used the Stamparatus to place the seedlings, which I stamped three times in Flirty Flamingo.

To add a bit more detail, I used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die for cutting a border around my design, and attached it with Dimensionals to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment is from the Soft Seedlings Stamp Set, stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink, and cut with a Deckled Rectangles Die. I used the 2 3/4″ X 4″ die, making two cuts for the desired size.

After being inspired by our designers, please get creative with this color combination, and hang your design in our gallery

I’m also sharing with The Paper Players.

Leaf Fall for Global Design Project 360

This week’s Global Design Project is to CASE Wilma De Korte, and her inspiring Fall card. I love her clean & simple design, and I incorporated the same Fall colors. Won’t you join in the fun, and hang your design in our gallery?

To begin, I used an Aspen Trees Die to cut two leaves from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I used Sponge Daubers to color the leaves with Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze Ink, and placed them on Dimensionals.

By Su Mohr for GDP 360; Click aromasandart.com to go to my blog for details! Fall leaves

For the background, I used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, and embossed it with the Leaf Fall Embossing Folder. Isn’t this embossing folder perfect for Fall cards?

After embossing, I stamped splotches and dots in Crumb Cale Ink with stamps from the Perched In a Tree Stamp Set.

“Wishing you abundant joy & peace, ” was stamped in Early Espresso Ink, also from the Perched In A Tree Stamp Set.

Once the stamping was complete, I glued the layer to a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The last detail was adding three Fine Sparkle Adhesive Backed Gems.
