This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, and I’ve combined the new bundle, Bottled Happiness, with some of my favorite “Last Chance” products. Today, May 2nd, is the last day you can order “Last Chance” products.

Sending Cheer
The colors are: Pool Party, Pale Papaya and Calypso Coral. Take a look at all of our designer’s projects using this color palette, then create your own, and hang it in our gallery.

My card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2 X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.
Prior to gluing this layer to the card base, I used a Basic Pattern Decorative Mask and Pool Party Ink for stenciling. This is one of my favorite techniques, and this set of masks is a “Last Chance” product, on sale for $4.80.

Next, I used an Ornate Layers Die to cut the center panel from Basic White Cardstock. This die set is a Last Chance product, on sale for $29.60, and I will miss showing it to you! It will stay in my collection, but I prefer to show you things that are available.

Before gluing the panel to my stenciling, I embossed it with a third, Last Chance product, the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. You need to order this at the sale price of $7.20, before it is gone forever!
The final, “Last Chance” product is Waves Of The Ocean Designer Paper, which I used the cut the Calypso Coral flower, with a Meadow Die. The Meadow Die is pictured in the first photo, and the set is carrying over to the new 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.
Now, for the new, Bottled Happiness Bundle, which you can order May 3rd. I stamped the bottle in Pool Party Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used my Paper Snips for cutting. The bundle comes with a punch, but I haven’t received it yet. Then, I stamped the label in Pale Papaya Ink, added the sentiment in Memento Black Ink, cut with Paper Snips, and glued it to the bottle.
After attaching the bottle and flower with Dimensionals, my card was complete.

My May Host Code Gift
Type the current host code (found beneath my profile picture) in the box provided, on your order of $75.00 or more, before tax and shipping, and I will send you the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder in June.
“The delicate design of the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder is subtle enough to match any project but it does not hold back on beauty. Leave the embossed look neutral to emphasize its texture, or get creative and use watercolor to accentuate the florals.”

Don’t miss our LAST CHANCE Products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. While many products are no longer available, you have today, May 2, to take a “chance” to find something on your wish list. For this week’s Global Design Challenge, we get to CASE Ann Alexander. Clicking on her card will take you to the site where you’ll see all the designer’s interpretations of her card.

I chose to give you a sneak peek of the Wisteria Wishes Bundle, using Evening Evergreen for the card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. First, I layered this with Soft Succulent, In-Color 6″ X 6″ Designer Paper, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

Wisteria Wishes
Second, I cut a square, using one of the new, Stylish Shapes Dies. This is a great set with 15 dies in stitched circles, squares, and banners.

Next, I used a Wisteria Die to cut the branch from Soft Succulent Cardstock, and blooms from Highland Heather Cardstock and an Ombre Gift Bag. After gluing the branch and blooms to the square, I raised the square on Dimensionals.

The sentiment, “Hang in there,” is from the Wisteria Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink. Then, I used Paper Snips for cutting, and attached it with tiny pieces of Dimensionals.
I completed my design with three Pastel Pearls, which happens to be my host code gift for the month of April. Details below.

This week’s Global Design Project is a theme challenge… flowers! There are so many from which to choose, I landed on a favorite set, Quiet Meadow, that is carrying over to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I should point out that the stamp set is available in a bundle with the dies, for a 10% savings, until May 3rd when the new catalog goes live. At that time, the stamp set and dies will be offered separately.

Watercolored Blooms
The blooms on today’s card evolved without a definite plan ahead of time. I began by stamping the Quiet Meadow flower in five colors of ink on Basic White Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink, Poppy Parade, Pale Papaya, and Polished Pink. Then, I used Paper Snips for cutting, and quickly passed them through running water. After letting them dry, I embossed them with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, and curled them with my fingers.
Next, I added Artistry Blooms Sequins to the centers, and Dimensionals for attaching to the card front. The sequins are retiring, at regular price, and the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder is retiring, on sale for $7.20.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4 ” X 5 1/2″, embossed with the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder. This folder is also retiring, and on sale for $5.40.
I glued this layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Last, but not least, the sentiment. The words, “amazing” and “you” and from the Amazing Thanks Die Set, cut from Rainbow Glimmer Paper, with the backing from Thick Basic White Cardstock. After gluing them together, I attached the words with Mini Dimensionals.
The Rainbow Glimmer Paper is retiring, and on sale for $4.80.
I’m informing you to the best of my ability, and apologize if the sale items are no longer available by the time you see my blog post.

You can get more inspiration for floral cards by visiting the Global Design Project website. Then, play along with us, and add your card to our gallery.

This week’s Global Design Project is a sketch challenge, and I chose one of my favorite retiring bundles, Sweet As A Peach, for a slimline design.
The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 7″, folded at 3 1/2″. The top layer is Basic White cardstock, 8″ X 3″, bordered with Polished Pink Cardstock, cut 1/8″ larger, giving a 1/16″ border.

Sweet As A Peach Slimline
First, I stamped the blossoms in Polished Pink Ink, “stamping off” to make them a lighter shade. The stamp has three, attached blossoms, which I stamped two times.
Second, I stamped the peaches in Pale Papaya and Petal Pink inks, using the Stamparatus to ensure the peaches had the saturation of color I wanted.
Third, I stamped the leaves in Pear Pizzazz Ink, and used Peach Dies to cut the peaches and leaves. Then, I glued the leaves to the back of the peaches, and placed two peaches on Dimensionals, leaving one to glue flat.

Fourth, I used four, small, Peach Dies to cut blossoms from Thick Basic White Cardstock, and glued them in place with pin dots of glue.

Prior to gluing, and attaching, I stamped the sentiment, “sweet as a peach,” in Memento Black Ink. I also stamped “Hope your day is,” used a Peach Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
If you love peaches, be sure to order this bundle while it’s still available.

You can click on the sketch to see what our designers created. Hopefully you will be inspired, and hang your creation in our gallery.

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Blushing Bride, So Saffron, and Soft Sea Foam. Since I’m out of town, I wasn’t sure I could create a design with my limited supplies, but thanks to Stampin’ Up’s color coordination, I was able to make it come together.

I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with a layer of Blushing Bride Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

Pansy Petals and Stitching
Next, I needed to find So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam in designer paper, because I had no ink pads or other cardstock in the required colors. Pansy Petals Designer Paper came to my rescue, and I used Pansy Dies to cut the flowers and leaves.

For the background, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, and added more stitching with the Stitched Greenery Die.

I’m needing Easter cards, and pansies are “happy” flowers, so I used the sentiment from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, “Happy Easter, Happy Spring, happy, happy everything.”
I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen, which matches the center of the flowers, and used another Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting.
After gluing the layers, I glued one pansy and two leaves flat, raised the rest on Dimensionals, and my card was complete.

For this week’s Global Design Challenge, we get to CASE Angela Meiritz-Reid. Clicking on her card will take you to the site where you’ll see all the designer’s interpretations of her card.

I chose the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, thinking it would make a pretty background of Memento Black Ink stamped on Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 5 1/8″.
The spray of dots was created by flicking the brush end of a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend against the cap. When I do this, it’s done in the laundry room sink.

Nature’s Harvest Edge
For a prominent flower, I used a Harvest Die to cut the flower from Flowering Fields Designer Paper, and backed it with cardstock for thickness. While doing this, I noticed the stem was perfectly straight, and would make a great edge. How fun! This led to cutting 3/4″ off the card front of a normal A2 card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued half of the flower to the card front, along the stem.

The sentiment, “thank you,” is also from the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, and cut with a Harvest Die. I stamped the words in VersaMark on Basic Black Cardstock, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool. This is called “heat embossing,” a very exciting technique for those new to stamping. I’ll never forget the first time I tried it!
After attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals, I added three Artistry Blooms Sequins, and my CASE was complete.
