Vellum Ranunculus

The Watercolor Shapes Stamp Set has a round shape that I stamped in Magenta Madness Ink and Mango Melody Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Next, I used two Ranunculus Dies (the frame and the detail at the same time) to cut the circular flower shapes. To make the flowers translucent, I used the Ranunculus frame die to cut from Vellum Layering Designs.  After gluing them together, I placed the flowers on Dimensionals.

The leaves were cut with Ranunculus Dies also. Aren’t they wonderful? After cutting from Basic White Cardstock, I splattered them with Misty Moonlight Ink from a Stampin’ Blend, flicking the brush end against the lid.

The background is a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This is layered with Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper in Misty Moonlight, 4″ X 5 1/4″, a FREE Sale-a-bration item with a qualifying purchase. I decorated the envelope flap with this paper also, which you can see in the first photo.

The top layer is Basic White Cardstock, cut 1/8″ smaller, to give a 1/16″ border.

The sentiment, “You’ve been on my mind, ” is from the Simply Succulents Stamp Set, stamped in Misty Moonlight Ink. Then, I used a Potted Succulents Die for cutting. This die set has wonderful label dies that I forget to use!

Paradise Palms for Global Design Project 328

For this week’s Global Design Project, we get to CASE Janneke De Jong. You can see her beautiful card below, and clicking on it will take you to our gallery where you can hang your CASE of her card.

I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This was layered with In Color Designer Paper in Soft Succulent, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

By Su Mohr for GDP 328; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Paradise Palms Stamp Set, Palm Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Iridescent Rhinestones, Ombre Gift Bags; #paradisepalms #palmdies #palmtrees #retirementcards #ombregiftbags #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #crafts #gdp328 #caseing #case #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #stamping #stampinup

Paradise Palms

Next, I cut basic White Cardstock with the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die. Then, I used a Paradise Palms Stamp to stamp Fresh Freesia Ink seven times. This is a great stamp, because it can be mountains, clouds, or water. The three palm trees, also a Paradise Palms Stamp, were stamped in Gorgeous Grape Ink.

The grass was made with a Palm Die and an Ombre Gift Bag in Soft Succulent. I chose the gift bag paper, rather than cardstock, to give the grass a lighter feel, and color shading.

The Paradise Palms Stamp Set and Palm Dies are in my Product List below. They can be purchased separately, or in a bundle for a 10% savings.

After gluing the grass, I stamped “Retirement wishes” in Memento Black Ink, and added splatter with a Highland Heather Stampin’ Blend. I did this by flicking the brush end against the cap onto the paper. This was really fun, but to insure I didn’t make a mess, it was done in my laundry room sink.

Prior to the final step of embellishing my card with Iridescent Rhinestones, I attached the top layer with Dimensionals.

Here is Janneke’ card. Can you see how I cased it?

Heart-shaped Moon

This week’s Global Design Project is a theme challenge, one of my favorites: “love-valentine.” Be inspired by our Design Team, then hang your card in our gallery.

I set to work with the New Horizons Designer Paper and Horizon Dies. First, I cut the the smooth mountain range from a light purple section of the designer paper, the detailed range from a darker purple, and glued them together.

You wouldn’t have to use the New Horizons DSP, but I love its watercolored look.

Second, I prepared the background, using the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock. This was attached with Dimensionals to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I used a curvy, New Horizons die to cut four sections of different colors of New Horizons Designer Paper. After cutting, I fit the curves together, and snipped the ends from the middle die-cuts.

Before gluing the curved pieces, I stamped the sentiment on the bottom curve in Memento Black Ink. “Happy Valentine’s Day” is from the Sweet Conversations Stamp Set.

Amazing You for Global Design Project 326

When seeing this week’s Global Design Project sketch, the first thing that came to mind was the word “amazing” across a circle. And, why not use my favorite designer paper, New Horizons!

By Su Mohr for GDP326; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: New Horizons Designer Paper, Amazing Thanks Dies, Layering Circles Dies, Iridescent Rhinestones; #newhorizons #amazingthanksdies #thankyoucards #gdp326 #paperwords #cardchallenges #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #amazingyou #watercoloring #stamping #stampinup

Amazing You

I cut a pattern of New Horizons Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used a layering Circles Die to cut a 2 3/8″ circle from a second piece of the same pattern of paper. The scalloped circle that’s a spec larger was used to cut Basic Black Cardstock to give the circle a contrasting border.

After gluing the two circles together, I attached them to the card front with Dimensionals.

Next, I used Amazing Thanks Dies to cut “amazing” and “you” from Basic Black Cardstock. Following this, I used their “backing” dies to cut from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I glued “amazing” to the circle, and attached “you” with Dimensionals. The “backing” dies have enough space for Mini Dimensionals, which is great!

I love the Iridescent Rhinestones, and the three sizes found a spot on my card.

Here is the sketch that was my inspiration. I hope you are inspired also, and will post your card in our gallery.

Bicycle and Hearts for Global Design Project 325

This week’s Global Design project is a color challenge: Pool Party, Pale Papaya, and Polished Pink. What a fun way to use new products!

I began with a Pool Party card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This was layered with clouds from Flowering Fields Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″.

I could wait no longer to use the darling bicycle, a Windmill Fields Die, and cut it from a white cloud. I used the cloud, because it was whiter than our  white cardstock, and I wanted it to match. Then, I layered it on Pool Party Cardstock for thickness. Truth be told, I cut the bicycle from all the colors, until I decided which was my favorite for this card. Yes, I can be picky.

Bicycle Love

Now, for the fun hearts! I used Sweet Hearts Dies to cut the three, larger, hearts from Sweet Heart Designer Paper, and the three smaller hearts from cardstock in our challenge colors. One, small, Polished Pink heart is in the bicycle basket, and the others are floating on Dimensionals in the clouds.

To complete the scene I added three sections of fence, cut with a Windmill Fields Die from Soft Succulent Cardstock.

Don’t forget to see how our designers used the pretty colors. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired, and add your card to our gallery.

A Valentine for Global Design Project 324

Welcome to Global Design Project’s first challenge in 2022!  I hope you’re as excited as I am to see how the designers have CASED Connie Collin’s beautiful card.

It presented the perfect opportunity for me to make a Valentine with products from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.

I began by stamping a sentiment from the Always In My Heart Stamp Set in Real Red Ink on Basic White Cardstock. The Stamparatus was used, so I could get an evenly inked, dark impression. Then, I used the large, Floral Heart Die for cutting. This die cuts the heart from the middle, making it fun to raise the heart on Dimensionals.

I just adore this sentiment, “You had me at hello.” Probably, because I met my husband on an airplane, and that was how I felt.

By Su Mohr for GDP 324; Click aromasandart.co to go to my website for details! Featuring: Always In My Heart Stamp Set, Floral Heart Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Basic Pattern Decorative Masks, Linen Thread; #alwaysinmyheart #floralheart #Masks #valentines #valentinecards #hearts #heartsoncards #youhadmeathello #handmadecards #handcrafted #cardmaking #diy #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com/shop #cardchallenges #caseing #gdp324

“You had me at hello”

For the background, I used a Basic Pattern Decorative Mask, the one with dots, as a stencil. Wanting it to be tone on tone, Sahara Sand Ink was applied with a Sponge Dauber on Sahara Sand Cardstock.

If the dots look slightly green, I think my Sponge Dauber wasn’t cleaned thoroughly. Time to buy some new Sponge Daubers!

Next, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting the dotted layer. After wrapping it with Linen Thread, I attached it with Dimensionals to a Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
