Welcome to the Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Folds Blog Hop. There’s a lineup below to make it easy for you to hop along.
For today’s Fun Fold, I’m featuring the new, Online Exclusives, Woven Textures Designer Paper and the Textured Notes Stamp Set. This “Accordion Fold” is perfect for showing off the fabulous, designer paper. Plus, I combined them with an Annual Catalog favorite, the Friends For Life Bundle.

Woven Textures Fun Fold
I began with a card base of Basic Beige Cardstock, 11″ X 5 1/2″, scored on the long side, 1 3/4″, 4 3/8″, and 7″. After scoring, the first fold (smallest section) is forward, the second fold is backwards, third fold is forward. That’s all there is to the card base.
To decorate, I cut three pieces of Woven Textures Designer Paper, 5 1/4″ X 1 1/2″, two pieces 5 1/4″ X 2 1/4″, and one piece 5 1/4″ X 2 1/2″. I covered the entire inside with designer paper, but you could leave some card base showing, or use Basic White Cardstock for a personal message, instead of the lightly patterned designer paper.

“Thank you” is from the Textured Notes Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink, cut with a Spotlight On Nature Die, and glued in place. I added leaves from the the Friends For Life Die Set, cut from Woven Textures DSP, and layered with cardstock for thickness.
“Friend” is from the Friends For Life Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink on Woven Textures DSP, and topped it with a die-cut “friend” from Woven Textures Designer Paper. I also stamped leaves, from the Textured Notes Stamp Set, in Early Espresso Ink.

Completing the sentiment, “You are seriously the best,” is from the Textured Notes Stamp Set. I stamped it in Early Espresso Ink on Basic Beige Cardstock, used a Friends For Life Die for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals. As a finishing touch, I attached three, Adhesive Backed Metallic Gems.

The Stampin’ Fancy Friday Design Team is a group of past and continuing Artisans, bringing our followers a fancy monthly challenge for inspiration. This month’s challenge is “bold & bright.”

I created two “fun fold” cards with six of Stampin’ Up’s bright colors; one in portrait, and one in landscape orientation.

Bright & Bold Fun Fold Cards
For the birthday card, I stamped the heart, from the Hearts Of Elegance Bundle, in Granny Apple, Green Lemon Lime Twist, and Pumpkin Pie. After stamping the hearts on Basic White Cardstock, I used their Hearts Of Elegance Die for cutting, along with three, plain, white, hearts for backing. Next, I cut Thick Basic White Cardstock, 7″ X 5 1/4″, folded at 3″, creating the fun fold. The front was decorated with Full Of Life Designer Paper in the same bright colors, 2 3/4″ X 5″. After gluing the hearts in place, I stamped “Happy Birthday,” from the So Sincere Stamp Set, used a Friends For Life Die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals. The last step was gluing this white card base to Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″, and adding three Shiny Sequins.

The inside was stamped with “Knowing you brings joy to my heart,” also from the So Sincere Stamp Set. This picture shows how the hearts look with backing.

The Valentine fun fold was created a bit differently. I began with a Petunia Pop card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued Full Of Life Designer Paper to the front, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and simply cut 1 inch off the card front. This time I stamped the hearts in Petunia Pop, Berry Burst, and Melon Mambo. “Happy Valentine’s Day” is from the Hearts Of Elegance Stamp Set, and Something Fancy Dies were used for cutting.

The sentiment inside is also from the Hearts Of Elegance Stamp Set.

Stampin’ Fancy Friday Sketch Challenge
This month is a sketch challenge.

Using a card sketch is one of my favorite ways to boost my creative mojo. Looking at the sketch, I used Full Of Life Designer Paper to cut two pieces with Paper Snips and two with Everyday Details Dies.

Then, I glued the two “paper snipped” pieces to Basic White Cardstock, embossed it with the Dotted Circles Embossing Folder, and glued it to a Granny Apple Green card base.

“Hi” is from the Friends For Life Stamp Set. The “die-cut” pieces were attached with Dimensionals, and as a finishing touch, I added three Shiny Sequins.

Today’s card was inspired by a color challenge: Night Of Navy, Berry Burst, and Crumb Cake. The new Regal Flora Bundle will look great in any combination of colors, so I began stamping flowers in Berry Burst Ink, and a sprig in Crumb Cake Ink, on Basic White Cardstock. The bundle has dies for cutting, yay!

Regal Flora
Next, I used two Friends For Life dies to cut “friends” from Night Of Navy Cardstock and Basic White Cardstock. After gluing the word to the backing, I placed it on Dimensionals. Then, I glued the flowers and sprig to Crumb Cake Cardstock, cut with the third largest Deckled Rectangles Die. Prior to gluing, I embossed the Crumb Cake Cardstock with the Birch Wood Embossing Folder.

The background was created with the Sketched Plaid Stamp and Crumb Cake Ink on Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die. After cutting, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. For a little sparkle, I added three Adhesive-Backed Shiny Sequins.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Jul 29, 2024 | Gallery, Global Design Project, Hand-Crafted Cards |
This week’s Global Design Project is to CASE the designer, which happens to be me. That means ” copy and selectively edit” a card I designed last May. I would love to see how you case my card; just use #GDP456, and post on Facebook or Instagram.

For my CASE, I used Citrus Blooms Dies for a wreath surrounding the sentiment. I also duplicated the colors, using ink with Blending Brushes, creating lighter shades.

Friendship Wreath
First, I used a Citrus Booms Die to cut the wreath from Basic White Cardstock 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″. Using the die-cut as a stencil, I placed it against Basic White Cardstock, the same size. Then, I applied Mossy Meadow Ink and Lost Lagoon Ink with Blending Brushes. After coloring, I used another Citrus Blooms Die to cut the outside border. This was attached, with Dimensionals, to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Next, I applied Petal Pink Ink to Basic White Cardstock, and used a Friends For Life Die to cut the word “friend.” Basic White Cardstock was used to cut the “frame” around “friend,” which enabled me to raise the word on Dimensionals.

The “star blossoms” were cut with Citrus Blooms Dies from scraps of paper colored with the Blending Brushes. I glued them in place, adding Iridescent Pearls, and dotting the “i” on friends.
