Easter Friends Fabric Bunny

Meet Cotton, the fabric bunny. She came to life by stamping her in Early Espresso Ink on In Good Taste Designer Paper, and cutting her free.

Cotton requested to stand in front of a circle of beautiful blue sky with white and pink clouds. We found the sky in Flowering Fields Designer Paper, which I cut with the largest Layering Circles Die, and layered it on Blushing Bride Cardstock, cut with the largest, scalloped, Layering Circles Die.

Cotton, the Fabric Bunny

The card base is Pool Party Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with woodgrain, In Good Taste Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. I added an edge of 6″ X 6″ Subtles DSP in plaid, Pool Party, 1/4″ X 5 1/4″.

Cotton said her card had to be an Easter card, and I’d find the perfect sentiment in her Easter Friends Stamp Set. I stamped “Happy Easter” in Early Espresso Ink on the woodgrain DSP, and used a Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. After adding a layer of cardstock for thickness, I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals.

Next, it was time for Cotton to hop on her card, and she asked for Dimensionals to make her “stand out.” Plus, she wanted a flower to wear on her head. It was lucky for me that a small die fell out of nowhere! I can’t even recall the set where it belongs, but I used it to cut a tiny flower from Blushing Bride Cardstock, and placed it on Cotton’s head. Yes, she also wanted a Rhinestone at the center, and I agreed it was the perfect touch.

Cotton was anxious to join the other bunnies at the Fusion challenge.

Tulips are perfect for spring time cards, and the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set is a retiring favorite, which is on sale for $14.40. It’s one of the four, “Last Chance” items I used on today’s card, and clicking on their pictures in my Product List below will show you the sale prices.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Timeless Tulips with stenciling

To begin, I experimented by stamping the tulips on Ombre Gift Bags. First, I stamped the flowers in Gorgeous Grape Ink on the purple bag, and the leaves and stems in Granny Apple Green on the green bag. Then, I used Paper Snips for cutting. The Ombre Bags are reduced to $4.80, and I like how the flowers turned out, don’t you?

Prior to gluing the flowers, I created the background with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Ornate Layers Die. Then, I used a Basic Pattern Decorative Mask with Coastal Cabana Ink and a Blending Brush to make the dots. The Ornate Layers Dies are $29.60, and the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks are $4.80.

The sentiment, “happy birthday,” is from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Pansy Petals for Global Design Project 337

This week’s Global Design Project is a color challenge, using Blushing Bride, So Saffron, and Soft Sea Foam. Since I’m out of town, I wasn’t sure I could create a design with my limited supplies, but thanks to Stampin’ Up’s color coordination, I was able to make it come together.

I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with a layer of Blushing Bride Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.

By Su Mohr for GDP 337; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Featuring: Pansy petals DSP, Stitched Greenery Die, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Pansy Dies, Timeless Tulips Stamp Set; #pansypetals #pansies #flowersoncards #eastercards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #sumohr #aromasandart.com #stamping #gdp337 #stampinup

Pansy Petals and Stitching

Next, I needed to find So Saffron and Soft Sea Foam in designer paper, because I had no ink pads or other cardstock in the required colors. Pansy Petals Designer Paper came to my rescue, and I used Pansy Dies to cut the flowers and leaves.

For the background, I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut Basic White Cardstock, and added more stitching with the Stitched Greenery Die.

I’m needing Easter cards, and pansies are “happy” flowers, so I used the sentiment from the Timeless Tulips Stamp Set, “Happy Easter, Happy Spring, happy, happy everything.”

I stamped the sentiment in Evening Evergreen, which matches the center of the flowers, and used another Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting.

After gluing the layers, I glued one pansy and two leaves flat, raised the rest on Dimensionals, and my card was complete.

Pansy Petals Easter Friends Card

Easter is less than a month away, and Peep the chick was ready to be featured on another card. She especially wanted you to know that you need to say “Happy Easter” with the Word Wishes Dies. This die set is retiring, and on sale now for $28.80, while supplies last. It’s a great set, because it has words for many special days, which you can see in my Product List below.

The words were cut from Evening Evergreen Cardstock to match the card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. I doubled the words for thickness, and glued them to the card front.

Pansy Petals Easter

Peep is from the Easter Friends Stamp Set, stamped in Mango Melody Ink on Basic White Cardstock, colored with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, and fussy cut.

The background was created with three patterns of Pansy Petals Designer Paper, also retiring, and on sale for $9.20. Peep said it was perfect for Easter cards, and I agree.

To get the evenly stitched border, I used the largest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting. Keep reading for a picture with further explanation.

I first cut the gingham, 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″. Then, I cut the stripe 1/4″ X 4″, and the floral 2 1/8″ X 4″. Next, I glued the stripe and the floral on top of the gingham, and ran it though the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

Finally, I attached Peep with Dimensionals, after stamping the clump of grass in Soft Succulent Ink. The grass is in the Easter Friends Stamp Set, along with other cute characters and sentiments, which you can see in my Product List.

And, I have to tell you, Peep is quite proud of the beautiful, colorful, eggs she gathered. They are actually Artistry Bloom Sequins, shhhh.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Waves Of The Ocean Suite Collection

This isn’t an April Fool’s joke: I love the Waves of the Ocean Suite Collection, but it’s no longer available. I discovered this after creating this card and blog post. I’m sorry.

However, the good news is the stamp set and dies are carrying over to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. So, with a change of paper and jewels, you can get creative with the same basic tools.

Today’s birthday card has a Soft Succulent card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This is topped with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die, and given “ocean-like” texture with the Bark Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is a “Last Chance” retiring item.

Next, I used a second, Stitched Rectangles Die ( 1 1/4″ X 3 1/4″) to cut three panels from Waves Of The Ocean Designer Paper. I stamped the pelican, from the Waves Of Inspiration Stamp Set in Soft Succulent Ink. Then, I backed the panels with cardstock for thickness, and glued them to the card front. I eyeballed the spacing, gluing the middle panel first.

I thought about going without the wave, but it’s so fabulous, I had to add it. It was cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock, and I snipped the end for a perfect fit across the three panels.

Waves Of The Ocean

“Happy Birthday” was stamped in Evening Evergreen Ink on Waves Of The Ocean Designer Paper, and the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die was used for cutting. Finally, I attached the sentiment with Dimensionals, and added three Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels to complete my birthday card.

Sea Life Rainbow Glimmer Seahorse

Today’s seahorse card was created with a few of my favorite products, and if you click on the pictures in my Product List below, you will see the reduced prices of retiring items in our “Last Chance” sale. The Rainbow Glimmer Paper has been a favorite, and is reduced to $4.80, as long as it’s available.

I began by using the largest Diorama Die to cut a portion of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper, from green to red. The Diorama Dies are currently unavailable, but the good news is, they are carrying over to the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click aromasandart.com to go to my website for details! Rainbow Glimmer Seahorse

Next, using a Sea Life Die, I cut a seahorse from the middle of the Rainbow Glimmer Paper. The seahorse stays attached in a few small places, unless you snip it free. Then, I used a die from the same set to cut the yellow fish, and placed them on Dimensionals.

After gluing the seahorse to the Night of Navy card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) I used a third Sea Life Die to cut the coral from Night of Navy cardstock, and glued it in place.

I have really enjoyed the Sea Life Dies, another “Last Chance” product, available now for the reduced price of $23.20. If you want to include the stamp set, the Seascape Bundle is on sale for $41.50.

Now, all I needed was a sentiment. “My sweet friend” is from the Welcoming Window Stamp Set, part of the bundle, retiring, and on sale in March for $44.75. I’ve had so much fun using this Welcoming Window Bundle, but we have to make room for new products.

I stamped the sentiment in Night Of Navy Ink on Coastal Cabana Cardstock, and used the Messages Die for cutting. The Messages Die is a newer product, but is also retiring, and on sale for $27.20.

I was inspired by TGIF.
