For this week’s Global Design Challenge, we get to CASE Angela Meiritz-Reid. Clicking on her card will take you to the site where you’ll see all the designer’s interpretations of her card.

I chose the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, thinking it would make a pretty background of Memento Black Ink stamped on Basic White Cardstock, 3 1/4″ X 5 1/8″.
The spray of dots was created by flicking the brush end of a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend against the cap. When I do this, it’s done in the laundry room sink.

Nature’s Harvest Edge
For a prominent flower, I used a Harvest Die to cut the flower from Flowering Fields Designer Paper, and backed it with cardstock for thickness. While doing this, I noticed the stem was perfectly straight, and would make a great edge. How fun! This led to cutting 3/4″ off the card front of a normal A2 card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I glued half of the flower to the card front, along the stem.

The sentiment, “thank you,” is also from the Nature’s Harvest Stamp Set, and cut with a Harvest Die. I stamped the words in VersaMark on Basic Black Cardstock, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool. This is called “heat embossing,” a very exciting technique for those new to stamping. I’ll never forget the first time I tried it!
After attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals, I added three Artistry Blooms Sequins, and my CASE was complete.

The flowers on the cover remind me of our Flowing Flowers Stamp Set, and the large flower, which I stamped in Petal Pink and Daffodil Delight inks on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, I used Paper Snips to cut the flowers, and placed them on Dimensionals.

Flowing Flowers Clean & Simple
The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is retiring, and on sale for 7.20, so click the picture in my Product List to order now while it’s still available.
The embossed layer is glued to a Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to embossing, I stamped three rectangles in Sahara Sand Ink, using a Welcoming Windows stamp. The Welcoming Windows Bundle is one of the “Savings Are In Bloom” bundles with a 20% discount for the month of March. Then, I stamped “I like you” in Early Espresso Ink, from the Flowing Flowers Stamp Set.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

As promised, another card created with the Quiet Meadow Bundle. And, the great news is that it is discounted 20% for the month of March, during our Savings Are In Bloom promotion. I have all the discounted bundles listed below.

Quiet Meadow Butterflies
For today’s card, I used a Meadows Die to cut two butterflies from Waves Of The Ocean Designer Paper, and placed them on Mini Dimensionals. Aren’t they pretty?

The butterflies are flying around flowers from the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. I stamped them in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used an Ornate Layers Die for cutting.

The background is a black & white check of Pattern Party Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. This is layered on a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
“You’re too kind” is one of the sentiments in the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with the Messages Die. Before attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals, I glued a 2 1/8″ piece of Gingham Ribbon beneath it, just enough to peek out the sides.

I was inspired by the Paper Players.

News, just released! the Last Chance Products Sale begins today, March 23! More details tomorrow, but the sale items go quickly. Click here to shop now!

Today’s card is #simplestamping, which is great for newcomers to stamping, because it requires few supplies; just stamps, ink, and paper. The stamp set I chose is from the Seascape Bundle that is on sale in March. I also used a great stamp set for backgrounds, Watercolor Shapes.

Seascape #simplestamping
I began by stamping the circles from Watercolor Shapes in three colors of ink, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green, and Garden Green, on Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″.

Next, I stamped the fish, bubbles, and underwater foliage from the Seascape Stamp Set.
I found the perfect, little “hello” in the Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set. This set is also part of a “bundle” that is on sale in March, and you can see the complete, pictured, list below.
After stamping, the underwater scene was glued to a Bermuda Bay card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and my #simplestamping card was complete.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Welcome to the Pals Fun Folds Blog Hop! We hope you enjoy the inspiration we have for you. You will find the lineup to the other great fun fold stampers at the bottom of my post.
For today’s “fun fold,” I wanted to share my favorite gift card holder for springtime gifts. It’s good to have gift card holders on hand, no matter what time of year. Right?

Springtime Gift Card Holder
First, I chose Soft Succulent Cardstock for the card base, and cut a piece that is 7 3/4″ X 5″. Then, I scored it at 6″ and 2 1/2″.
Second, I cut the band 7 3/4″ X 1″, and scored it at 6 1/8″ and 2 1/2″. You want that extra 1/8 inch on the scoring, so the band will slide off and on easily.

To decorate the gift card holder, I cut two pieces of Flowering Fields Designer Series Paper: The bottom front is 4 3/4″ X 2 1/4″. The top front is 4 3/4″ X 1 1/2″.
I used the smallest Layering Circles Die to make a finger slot in the middle of the bottom front, then glued the right and left, inside edges, sealing the pocket.
Next, I cut one piece of Basic White Cardstock for the sentiment on the inside, 4 3/4″ X 1 1/2″.

The band is decorated with gingham from Pansy Petals Designer Paper, and a cute chick from the Easter Friends Stamp Set.
The chick was stamped in Mango Melody Ink on Basic White Cardstock, colored with a Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend, and cut with scissors.
I glued the band with the raw edge in front, and covered with the chick, which I attached with Dimensionals.

This week’s challenge at Global Design Project is a theme: rain/rainbow. I used New Horizons Designer Paper to create a rainbow (literally) in the sky.
I began with a watercolored scene, 5 1/4″ X 4″, glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Rainbow Wishes
The New Horizons paper is so gorgeous, I’m saving every little scrap, which I used for the lettering. I cut the word “rainbow” with Playful Alphabet Dies from 1″ (approximately) pieces of designer paper, adhered to Foam Adhesive Sheets.

After running the letters through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, I carefully removed them from the dies, peeled the backing, and adhered them to the card front in an arch.

All that remained was the sentiment, which I found in the Special Moments Stamp Set. I masked “best,” and stamped “wishes” in Memento Black Ink on New Horizons DSP. Then, I used a Stitched So Sweetly Die for cutting, attached it with Dimensionals, and my “Rainbow Wishes” card was complete.

You can click here to see how our designers had fun with this week’s theme. Hopefully, you’ll be inspired to add your card to our gallery.
