Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Great Family Occasions.”We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
My family has a bunch of birthdays in the Spring, so it’s birthday celebrations galore! Why not celebrate with a quadruple-decker sorbet cone?

Sorbet Birthday
To accommodate my tall ice cream cone, I used a slimline card design; Thick Basic White Cardstock 7″ X 8″, folded at 3 1/2″. Then, I layered the card front with True Love Designer Paper, 3 1/4″ X 7 3/4″. Next, I cut a layer of Thick Basic White Cardstock, 1/8″ smaller, giving it a 1/16″ black & white border. I used “thick,” so the black & white print wouldn’t be visible through it.
Prior to gluing the layers together, I used the Stamparatus to stamp the sentiments in Stazon Black Ink. “Happy Birthday” and “treat yourself” are from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set.
Now, for the really fun part, stamping the sorbet. I used the stamp, from the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set, to stamp the scoops in four, fruity colored inks: Flirty Flamingo (strawberry), Granny Apple Green (lime), Daffodil Delight (lemon), and Pumpkin Pie (orange). Which flavor do you like best?

After stamping, I used the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch for cutting; so easy, and so fun! The cone was made with Crumb Cake Cardstock, the tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, and the same Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch.

The last detail was finding some coordinating colors of Sequins to add some sparkle to my birthday card. I’m ready to celebrate!

Now, all that’s needed is a slimline envelope. I’ve been using regular, legal-sized envelopes, but decided to try making one with designer paper.
I cut 12″ X 12″ True Love Designer Paper into a piece, 9 1/2″ X 10 1/2″. Then, I scored the bottom at 4″ and the top at 2 1/4″. I added Stampin’ Seal along the two sides of the bottom portion, and closed it, making a pocket. I’ll add Stampin’ Seal to the top flap, when I’m ready to seal it.
TIP: Score gently, so you don’t cut through the paper. This same design could be used for cards of all sizes. Just make sure there’s enough width, so the card will slide in and out easily after gluing the sides, and the pocket is tall enough to cover the card.

I used an address label on the back. The pretty paper makes up for the lack of fancy angles, don’t you think?

Thanks for stopping by! Enjoy celebrating with your family!

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on May 12th when our theme is “2021-2023 New In Colors” when our Design Team creates a project with the new family of In Colors for any occasion. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft space.

This week’s Global Design Project is a theme: by the sea. So, I wanted to show you the Seabed Embossing Folder before it retires. It’s one of the Last Chance Products, and will only be available until it sells out. You can see the entire list of Last Chance Products by clicking on the box toward the bottom of this post.

Seabed
It was easy to emboss Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, with the Seabed Embossing Folder by running it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Then, I used a Sponge Dauber and Pool Party Ink to lightly spread color across the raised portions.
After coloring, I glued this layer to a Pool Party card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The shells and seaweed are from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set, stamped in Blushing Bride, Sahara Sand, and Cinnamon Cider Ink. I fussy cut the shells, embossed the sand dollar with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, and attached them with Dimensionals.
Beneath the shells is Braided Linen Trim that I stretched apart, and attached with Glue Dots. The seaweed was cut with a Seaside Seashell Die (forgot to add to my Product List, #156095). The stamp set and dies can also be purchased as a bundle for a 10% savings, #156205.
The sentiment, “for you” is from the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set, stamped in Blushing Bride Ink, cut with the smallest Stitched So Sweetly Die, and attached with a Dimensional. I added a few embellishments to the collection of shells; Opal Rounds and Whale Of A Time Sequins.

Back in July, I used the same Seabed Embossing Folder for my Global Design Project. I used Stampin’ Blends to color the raised portions, which was much more time consuming, but fun, if you enjoy coloring. You can click on the card to go to the original blog post.

And, one more card using the Seabed Embossing Folder, and the wonderful Whale Of A Time Designer Paper. Unfortunately, the paper has retired and sold out. Please, if there is something on the Last Chance Products List that you like, order ASAP so you won’t be disappointed.

After getting more inspiration from our designers, it will be your turn to create a card to hang in our gallery.

For today’s Stamping Sunday Blog Hop I’m sharing three cards, using the retiring, Flowering Blooms Stamp Set, Flowering Dies, Fine Art Floral Designer Paper, and Layering Ovals Dies. If you click on the pictures in my Product List below, you will see the prices. The Flowering Dies have been reduced to $7.75. What a savings!
I also wanted to show how the Flowering Blooms Stamp Set can be enjoyed by three types of stampers: beginner, casual and avid.

Beginner, Avid, Casual
The “beginner’s” card, on the left, is #simplestamping; just stamps, ink, and paper. A beginner will be delighted with the Flower Blooms Stamp Set, because the images are crisp and detailed, without requiring the Stamparatus. This set has the “WOW” factor!
The card base is Mint Macaron Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, layered with Mint Macaron in a print, 4 ” X 5 1/4″.
The top layer is Fine Art Floral Designer Paper, 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″, that I stamped with flowers and “thank you,” from the Flower Blooms Stamp Set, in Stazon ink. See what I mean about the detailed images?

The second card (on the right in the first picture) is for a casual stamper, taking more time and products. This time, I began with a Coastal Cabana card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) topped with a layer of Basic White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″).
The top layer is Fine Art Floral Designer Paper (3 3/4″ X 5 1/4″) with the right side given a fancy edge by cutting with a Flowering Die. You are able to extend the length by moving the die down, and cutting a second time. After carefully adding pin dots of glue, I attached the two pieces to the white layer.
Next, I stamped the gorgeous flower in Stazon Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, used its die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
I used the same sentiment, but gave “thank you” special treatment on this second card. I stamped it in Stazon Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used the smallest, Layering Ovals Die for cutting. Then, I cut Coastal Cabana Cardstock with the scalloped oval in the next size, glued the two together, and attached it with Dimensionals.

The third card, in the middle, began with a Coastal Cabana card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
The So Saffron paper is a pattern of Fine Art Floral Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, which I glued to So Saffron Cardstock for thickness, before cutting the hole in the middle. I used the largest Layering Ovals Die for cutting, then applied Foam Adhesive Strips to the back to raise the frame.
Next, I used a Flowering Die with Stazon Black Ink to stamp branches on Fine Art Floral Designer Paper, 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″. Then, I attached this to the Foam Adhesive Strips before gluing the entire raised frame to the card front.
The flower was created with the Flowering Dies you see in the picture, and the sentiment was created the same way as the second card.
This card has additional detail, created with extra tools and product, that an avid crafter would enjoy.

For more inspiration, the Stamping Sunday designers are excited to share retiring products with you. Next up is Jay Soriano, and previously, Cheryll Miller.

Slimline cards are very popular, so when Oliver (the extra long Hot Dog) heard that I was making one, he begged to be featured.

Oliver
He said it would be very easy, because he was already the color of Crumb Cake Cardstock, and I just needed to stamp him in Early Espresso Ink. After cutting, I added a little more color with a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Hot Dog Stamp Set, “I love you that’s the long and short of it,” in Early Espresso Ink. I used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting the label, which was perfect for extending Oliver’s body.
This is when I performed major surgery, by cutting Oliver in half, but he said it didn’t hurt. I glued Oliver’s front and back to the label, and placed him on Dimensionals. He was still smiling!

Oliver wanted to walk through a field of pansies , which he saw in the new 2021 Annual Catalog, but I said it was too soon to use the Pansy Petals Designer Paper, so he chose Forever Greenery.
Oliver’s card base is Garden Green Cardstock, 8″ X 7″, folded at 3 1/2″. The Pear Pizzazz layer is 7 1/2″ X 3″, and the Forever Greenery paper is 1/8″ smaller. It will fit into a regular, legal sized, envelope.
We were almost finished, but needed a touch of color, so Oliver said he wanted Real Red hearts. He said his friend, Dog Punch, wouldn’t mind if we borrowed some from him, especially since Dog Punch was retiring, and wouldn’t want to be forgotten. It’s hard to believe he was once valued at $18.00, and is now only $10.80. Such a shame! I think he’d love some new owners who would appreciate him.

I was inspired by TGIF.

Today’s curvy, “hello” card is a combination of retiring and “carrying-over” products. I hate to tell you, but the Curvy Dies are retiring, and will only be available as long as supplies last. The good news is the Forever Fern Stamp Set and Forever Flourishing Dies are “carrying over,” meaning they’ll be in the new 2021 Annual Catalog. However, they will not be offered in a bundle. So, if you want the 10% bundle discount, you should order it now. You can see everything in my Product List below.

Curvy Forever Greenery
To begin, the card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I cut Forever Greenery Designer Paper and Basic White Cardstock 1/16″ smaller than the card front, because I didn’t want it to hang over the edge.
Second, I used the Curvy Die to cut the Basic White Cardstock in half, and I trimmed one half to the size I wanted for the designer paper to show in the middle. I hope this makes sense.

To add some texture to the white paper, I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder, which is carrying over. Then, I glued the white paper on top of the patterned paper, before gluing the layer to the card base.

Next, I used a Forever Flourishing Die to cut the sprig from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock, and glued it in place. The sprig die is shown in the first photo above, just one of many great dies in the set.
The sentiment, “hello” is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set, stamped in Pretty Peacock Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die. The Forever Greenery Designer Paper and Pretty Peacock color are retiring, but the Ornate Frames Die Set is carrying over.
Do you see the three, gold, sequins? They are from a carry-over pack of 3,600 Sequins For Everything. I kid you not! Three at a time will make 1,200 cards. I think I’d better start making shaker cards! LOL!

I can’t let the Lasting Elegance Dies retire without showing you one more time. If you click on the picture in my Product List below, it will take you to my store where you can purchase the die set for $8.50. The original price was $34.00; what a deal!

Garden Bee
After using the Lasting Elegance border die to cut from Very Vanilla Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″), I embossed it with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder.
Usually I stamp before embossing, but I wanted to see if it would work this way. Stamping the foliage and pollen (Garden Wishes Stamp Set) in Shaded Spruce Ink was successful, because I used the Stamparatus. This enabled me to stamp several times, as well as adding a touch of Just Jade Ink to the “poofs.”
Next, I stamped the star of the show, the bee, in Early Espresso Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, and used a Dandy Wishes Die for cutting. A Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend was used to color the bee, a perfect pop of color. Then, I used a die to make the bee’s trail. Isn’t it the cutest?

The sentiment, “hello,” is from the Well Said Stamp Set, but there is also “hello” in the Garden Wishes Stamp Set. I stamped the word in Early Espresso Ink, cut it with a Dandy Wishes Die, and attached it with a Dimensional.
The card base is Shaded Spruce, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

I was inspired by Fusion.

And, I received color inspiration from the Better Homes & Gardens magazine. It’s always fun to see color trends, and today’s card is an example of using Very Vanilla with Shaded Spruce for the “cream & sea green” trend.
