Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created projects showing “My Favorite Things” from any of the two current catalogs or the upcoming catalog in January. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
I’ve really enjoyed making cards with products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, and I’m excited to tell you about some favorites.

Merry and Bright
The Peace & Joy Bundle (page 18) is among the top of my list of favorite retiring sets, because I can’t resist paper words. The font is wonderful in the die-cuts, and the words in the stamp set are so much fun to use.
I began today’s card by using the thinnest Joy Die to cut “bright” from Real Red Cardstock, and layered it on the medium sized, Whisper White, die-cut “bright.” This made it easy to raise on Dimensionals. The Joy Dies are discounted 30%!
Then, I stamped “merry” and “and” in Garden Green Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, hand cut with scissors, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.

The background is Whisper White Cardstock with Winter Snow embossing, 5 1/4″ X 4″, layered on a Thick Whisper White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This embossing folder is on Page 37, and I’m sad to see it retire, but it’s 50% off while supplies last.
Next, I cut a piece of Thick Whisper White Cardstock, 5 1/4″ X 2 “, and used a Curvy Die to trim the top. Happily, the Curvy Dies are in the upcoming January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, page 23.

Do you see the cute bell attached to the “t”? It was cut from Silver Foil, using a Sounds of the Season Die. The Cherish the Season Bundle is another retiring favorite from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog, page 33.
The bells are fabulous in any color, and the Sounds Of The Season Die Set includes the pine branches dancing along the curve. I used four colors of cardstock: Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz, Just Jade, and Granny Apple Green.

You can see the list of all the retiring products from the August-December 2020 Mini Catalog below.
Thanks so much for hopping by! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Before seeing today’s card, I don’t want you to miss the Giant Year-End Closeout.
You can click here to see the list of retiring items. The Year-End Closeout begins TODAY December 8th, ending January 4th. Order early, before things sell out. The list is long, but to make it easier, it’s in order by page number (August-December 2020 Mini Catalog).

Now, for today’s sneak peek of exciting, new products! When you live in a card-making world, you find inspiration everywhere! For instance, I was admiring my daughter’s blouse, and the new Art Gallery Bundle came to mind. This bundle is on the front cover of the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and sure to be a favorite. I combined it with a sketch, and this card developed.

“thinking of you”
Balmy Blue Ink was my color choice to design background paper with an Art Gallery stamp. It was easy to stamp six rows of this beautiful image on Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and glue the layer to a Balmy Blue card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Then, I used the largest, straight edge, Layering Squares Die to cut Balmy Blue Cardstock, and embossed it with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder.

Next, I used the second largest, straight edge, Layering Circles Die to cut Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper in the red stripe, just like my daughter’s blouse.

The flower on top of the circle was created with two stamps from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, Balmy Blue Ink, Whisper White Cardstock, and a Floral Gallery Die. The die, pictured in the first photo, made the flower very easy to cut, and attach with Dimensionals.

I hadn’t forgotten Poppy Moments Dies, a current Annual Catalog favorite, and I used one of the dies to cut the stamen from Night Of Navy Cardstock.
The sentiment, “I’m thinking of you,” is from the Art Gallery Stamp Set, stamped in Night Of Navy Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with a Floral Gallery Die. I backed it with Night Of Navy Cardstock, 2 3/4″ X 1/2″, so the detailed edge would stand out, as well as match the stamen. You can see the current supplies in my Product List below.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this sneak peek of the Art Gallery Bundle, which will be available January 5, 2021. This is just part of the gorgeous Fine Art Floral Suite on pages 32-34 in the upcoming catalog.

Thank you for the inspiration!

Slimline cards have become popular, are easy to make, and fit in a legal sized envelope, 9 1/2″ X 4 1/8″.
I began with Silver Slate Cardstock, 9″ X 8″, folded at 4″, layered with In Good Taste Designer Paper, 1/8″ smaller. This paper adds lots of brushstroke texture without any effort. Don’t you love it? There’s a wonderful variety of In Good Taste paper that you can see in my Product List below.

Slimline Wreath Card
With challenge colors in mind, I used Blending Brushes to color Whisper White Cardstock with Balmy Blue Ink and Highland Heather Ink. The Blending Brushes are a new item in the January-June 2021 Mini Catalog, and will be available January 5th. I chose this coloring method over cardstock, because of the softer look.

Next, I used a Wreath Builder Die to cut one circle of leaves from Balmy Blue, and one from Silver Foil. Another die was used to cut five sprigs from Highland Heather.

“Joy” is from the soon-to-retire Peace & Joy Bundle, which I created using Smoky Slate Cardstock and some Foam Adhesive Sheet for dimension.
“To you and yours” is from the Peace & Joy Stamp Set, stamped in Smoky Slate Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock. It was easily cut by hand along the straight lines, and raised on Mini Dimensionals.
The last detail was adding a few Woven Threads Sequins.

Are you ready to give Slimline cards a try? See more inspiration at Global Design Project, then post your creation in our gallery.
My colors are from TGIF.
I’m also sharing with Paper Players.

Today’s Christmas card features poinsettias, a favorite flower of the season.

Celebrate with Poinsettias
I cut the poinsettias from Real Red and Very Vanilla Cardstock, using a Wreath Builder Die. The leaves were made with a Flowering Die and Garden Green Cardstock.

The red ticking stripe (5 1/4″ X 1″) is Toile Tidings Designer Paper, as well as the green check I’m using for photographing. The good news is, this paper is 30% off during Stampin’ Up’s Year-End Closeout Sale, starting Dec. 8th. If you love it, order soon, before it sells out. Click here to see the entire list of closeout items. The list is long, but to make it easier, it’s in order by page number (August-December 2020 Mini Catalog).

Next, I glued the red stripe to a Very Vanilla Cardstock layer, 5 1/4″ X 4 “, and embossed the entire piece with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. The card base is Thick Very Vanilla Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4”.

The sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas Stamp Set, stamped in Real Red Ink, and cut with a Floral Gallery Die. This die-cut is just a sneak peek of the Floral Gallery Die Set, which will be available January 5th. All of my other supplies are current, and in my Product List below.

I was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch.

When you have the right dies, like Pine Woods, Christmas cards can be made in a jiffy. I used this design a few weeks ago, in pastel colors. Today, I used Plaid Tidings Designer Paper and green (Shaded Spruce) for the tree.

Pine Tree & Plaid
I just found out that the Pine Woods Dies are 30% off in Stampin’ Up’s Year-End Closeout that begins December 8th! The sale lasts through January 4th, but order early, so you won’t be disappointed. When things sell out, they’ll be gone forever. Click here to see the looooong list:

Now, back to my card. The card base is Thick Whisper White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with a layer of Plaid Tidings Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″.
I used a Nature’s Thoughts Die to cut the detailed rectangle from Whisper White Cardstock, which is approximately 2 3/4″ X 4 1/4″.
Next, I used a Pine Woods Die to cut the Christmas tree from the rectangle, and backed it with Shaded Spruce Cardstock, 1/8″ smaller than the white rectangle. The tree die is in the picture above, and all the supplies can be seen in my Product List below.

Prior to gluing the tree to the plaid card front, I stamped the rectangle with “lots of love at Christmas.” This fun, curvy, sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set, stamped in Shaded Spruce Ink. And, that’s all there was to it.

This card was so “quick & easy” I made three, using three plaids that all had some Shaded Spruce to coordinate with the tree.

Here they are in pastel colors:

I couldn’t wait to play with the Art Gallery Bundle, so I’m giving you a sneak peek. Since I’m missing some items from the suite, this is an experiment with heat embossed gold on white. Everything will be available January 5, 2021, and you’ll find the current items in my Product List below.

Art Gallery Gold
I began by stamping the flower from the new Art Gallery Stamp Set in VersaMark on Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. This is the perfect flower stamp for this technique, because it’s more than an outline, but not completely filled in.

I used the same heat embossing technique for the stem and leaves, and used the Floral Gallery Dies for cutting.

The square behind the flower was created with Layering Squares Dies. The white square has a plain edge, and the slightly larger, scalloped, square was cut from Brushed Metallic Paper.

I used the Ornate Floral Embossing Folder to emboss the background layer of Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and this was glued to a Thick Whisper White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

I repeated the heat embossed technique for the sentiment, “Happy Birthday,” one of the many useful sentiments from the Art Gallery Stamp Set. It was cut with a Floral Gallery Die, and attached with Mini Dimensionals. Don’t you love it?
The paper wanted to curl, so I went with it, gluing the stem and base of the leaves, leaving the ends free. I attached the flower with a small piece of Tear & Tape, so it’s secure, but lifted.
You’ll be seeing many more samples from the Art Gallery Bundle, because the possibilities are endless.

As I created my card, I had Freshly Made Sketches in mind.
