Bee Mine Valentine

Honey bees and Valentines go together, don’t you think? We often call our loved ones “Honey,” so it seems natural to combine the two.

Bee Mine

Consequently, I couldn’t resist the play on words with “bee” mine. “M-i-n-e” was made with the Hand-Lettered Prose Die Set and Gold Foil. These letters come in handy for saying exactly what you need to say. I made the letters extra special by embossing them with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, and layering them for thickness.

The bee was also cut from Gold Foil, using a Detailed Bee Die. Isn’t she fabulous?

The large heart, and hearts along the bottom are from the Be Mine Stitched Die Set in the Annual Catalog. The center of the large heart is the new, Golden Honey Designer Paper, and there’s a scalloped edge of Thick Whisper White Cardstock. I used more Gold Foil for the small hearts.

The background is Whisper White Cardstock embossed with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, layered on a Thick Whisper White card base. Not all Valentines have to be red or pink! Although, this design would look great in those colors. Hmmm, I can’t wait to get started!

My layout was inspired by Global Design Project.

Honey Bee

How do you get the Golden Honey Designer Paper? During Sale-A-Bration (Jan 3-March 31), when you place a qualifying order of $50.00, you can choose the Golden Honey DSP as your FREE item.

For instance, if you purchase the Honey Bee Bundle (41.25) and a pack of Cardstock(8.75), the Golden Honey Designer Paper is yours for FREE. But, don’t delay, this is only as long as supplies last.

The Golden Honey Designer Paper has bees which coordinate perfectly with the Detailed Bee Die Set. The Honey Bee stamp set has this same bee, so you have options. You can stamp the bee, and you’ll never run out of bees. I cut my three bees from the DSP, and colored the stripes with a Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.

Don’t you just love the curved sentiment?  “Wishing you sunshine & happiness” was designed to fit perfectly over the hive. I cut the hive with a Detailed Bee Die.

To match the sentiment, I chose a happy color, Granny Apple Green for the card base, topped with a sunny color, Daffodil Delight. The top layer is Thick Whisper White, which I lifted on Foam Adhesive Strips, over a layer of busy bees from Golden Honey DSP.

TIP: Foam Adhesive Strips are twice as thick as Dimensionals, and their length is great for creating sturdy depth.

TIP: Cutting the Daffodil Delight and Whisper White layers with Stitched Rectangles Dies, makes for precise layering, without measuring. Plus, you get the added detail of stitching.

To complete the design, I stamped the flowers in Memento Black Ink, and used Detailed Bee Dies for cutting. Then, I colored them with two Stampin’ Blends:  Light Daffodil Delight and Dark Granny Apple Green.

Here’s a Valentine using a Detailed Bee Die and the Golden Honey DSP. Click on card for details.

Umbrellas Are For Showers

Umbrellas indicate showers, and when there are showers, something new is around the corner. The new, Under My Umbrella Bundle, has the stamps and the punch to make wonderful cards for many occasions.

You could be thinking of weather, but I have wedding showers and baby showers in mind.

By Su Mohr for Fab Fri and Paper Players; Click READ or VISIT to goo to my blog for details! Featuring: Under My Umbrella Bundle, Umbrella Builder PunchOrnate Frames Dies, #undermyumbrella #umbrellas #umbrellasoncards #showercards #weddingshowers #babyshowers #2020minicatalog 2020stampinup #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #cardchallenges #colorcombos

Shower Days

I began with a Highland Heather Card base, and a layer of Poppy Parade Cardstock. Then, I embossed the Whisper White top layer with the Subtle Textured embossing folder.

Prior to embossing, I stamped three umbrella handles, from the Under My Umbrella Stamp Set, in Memento Black Ink.

The umbrellas were made with Designer Paper from 6X6 Packs, which you can see in my Product List. The check is current, while the stripe and dot have been replaced with new patterns.

I used Versamark to stamp the frames on the DSP, sprinkled with Black Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool.

Finally, I used the Umbrella Builder Punch to cut the umbrellas, and placed them on Dimensionals.

“It’s your day!” is from the Under My Umbrella Stamp Set, stamped in Gorgeous Grape on Whisper White Cardstock. I used a Merry Christmas label die for cutting, which fit perfectly within the Ornate Frame Die. The Ornate Frame was cut from Highland Heather Cardstock.

The colors were inspired by Fab Friday.

I’m also  sharing with the Paper Player’s, whose theme is “something new.”

Thanks for stopping by. You can purchase your own umbrellas by clicking on the pictures in my Product List, and filling your shopping bag! Or, include it in your Starter Kit, and start saving on your crafting supplies.

Masculine Mountain Air

Here we go with a masculine card; not that women wouldn’t like it also. But, most men would choose to be in the mountains, rather than in a store shopping, if you know what I mean.

By Su Mohr for TGIF; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Mountain Air Bundle, Mountain Air Stamp Set, Majestic Mountain Dies, Timeless Tropical Stamp Set, Stitched Rectangles Dies; #masculinecards #mountainair #majesticmountains #mountains #treesoncards #colorcombos #cardchallenges #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #cardsforguys

Mountain Air

This was my first time using the Mountain Air Stamp Set, and it was fun discovering the stamping possibilities. It has the unique quality of being a “reversible” stamp set.

I began by stamping the solid mountain range in Rich Razzleberry Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock. Then, I turned it over and stamped the detailed mountain range. Next, I stamped the detailed row of trees, and used a Sponge Dauber to fill in the space between the base of the mountains and the tree tops.

After stamping the mountain scene, I used a Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting, and gave this a 1/16″ border of Basic Black Cardstock. Finally, I glued this layer to a Rich Razzleberry card base.

The Mountain Air Stamp Set comes “bundled” with a die set, Majestic Mountains. It has a wonderful tree that looks great cut from Basic Black Cardstock.

The sentiment, “Rest & Relax, you deserve it,” is from the Timeless Tropical Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink, and used a Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting.

The colors from TGIF are not colors I would normally choose. This is what’s fun about challenges!

Thank you for visiting today. I hope you can see the possibilities this set has to offer. You can click on the pictures in my Product List for more details.

Have a great day!

Special Someone’s Birthday Surprise

Raccoon, Squirrel, and Mouse can’t wait to surprise their friend on his birthday! I wonder whose birthday it is…?

By Su Mohr for Seize the Birthday; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Special Someone Stamp Set, Seasonal Layers Dies; #birthday cards #someonespecial #animalsoncards #critters #squirrels #raccoons #mice #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #surpriseparties

Surprise Party

The three adorable friends are from the 2020 stamp set, Special Someone. The stamp set is “Two-Step” stamping, where you layer a second stamp on top of the first stamp. Using my Stamparatus, insured the stamps would line up properly.

I began by stamping the detailed raccoon stamp in Early Espresso Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I stamped the solid raccoon stamp in Sahara Sand Ink on top of the first image.

The squirrel was first stamped in Soft Suede Ink, followed by Sahara Sand Ink, and the mouse was stamped in Memento Black Ink, followed by Smoky Slate Ink.

Raccoon wrote “Happy Birthday” in Early Espresso Ink, while Squirrel tied a Balmy Blue balloon to the tree branch with Linen Thread.

The branch was made with a die from the Seasonal Layers Die Set, and wood textured, Pressed Petals Designer Paper.

TIP: I layered it for thickness.

The scene is layered on Balmy Blue Cardstock, on a Crumb Cake card base.

Now, all they had to do was wait for their friend to arrive, yell “happy birthday,” and let the party begin!

They are excited to invite everyone at Seize the Birthday to their party.

Thanks for joining the party. Wishing you all a surprise birthday party this year!

You can order this adorable stamp set today. Just click on the picture in my Product List, and put it in your shopping bag. Thank you!

Poppy Friendship

First, I selected the stripe and floral from the Peaceful Poppies DSP. Using the Layering Ovals Dies, I cut the floral DSP with the plain edge, and Whisper White Cardstock with the scalloped edge.

I gave the striped DSP a matching scalloped edge by using a Be Mine Stitched Die on all four sides.

The leaves to the right of the oval were cut with two dies from the Poppy Moments Die Set. They are tied with a bow of Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon, also in the Peaceful Poppies Suite.

“Life is better with a friend like you” is from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set. I stamped it in Mossy Meadow Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and trimmed it to size. After placing the oval and sentiment on Dimensional, I added a few Iridescent Sequins.

My layout was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch.
