Today’s design began with Basic Beige Cardstock, cut with the largest Deckled Rectangles Die, and given texture with the Dashing Designs Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Thoughtful Wishes Rectangles
Once I had my background, I stamped a plant from the Thoughtful Wishes Stamp Set, in Mossy Meadow Ink, on Basic White Cardstock. After stamping, I colored it with Mossy Meadow and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends, and used its Thoughtful Wishes Die for cutting.
You really need to get this bundle, while it’s discounted 20% this month. Clicking on the picture in my Product List below will show you the sale price, and all that is included.

Next, I cut purple wildflowers, using a Thoughtful Wishes Die, from Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper. Then, I glued both plants to Basic White Cardstock, cut with a Deckled Rectangles Die, 1 3/4″ X 31/8″, doubled it for thickness, and glued it to the card front. Prior to gluing, I stamped a few dots in Basic Beige Ink, using a Thoughtful Wishes Stamp.
The colorful rectangle is also Thoughtful Journey DSP, cut with a Deckled Rectangles Die, 2 3/4″ X 1 1/2″. After layering it with cardstock for thickness, I glued it in place.
“Thanks” is from the Thoughtful Wishes Stamp Set, stamped in VersaMark on Thoughtful Journey DSP, sprinkled with White Embossing Powder, and set with the Heat Tool.
For a little embellishment, I added three, Iridescent Discs, in matching colors.

Today’s card is my Artisan Tip & Technique Project for June. I am demonstrating paper-piecing with die-cuts, using the Friends For Life Bundle, and Full Of Life Designer Paper. If you like jigsaw puzzles, you’ll love this paper-piecing technique.

Paper-Piecing
You can use any die that has openings within its frame, and roll it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine on a favorite piece of designer paper.

Glue the frame to a solid piece of cardstock, and fill in the pieces with tiny dots of glue, using the aid of a Take Your Pick Tool. The sticky tip picks up the small pieces, making it much easier. This heart has 20 pieces.

For quick, paper-piecing, simply frame a solid die-cut. Glue the solid piece first, then mold the frame around it, for a snug fit. This die cuts the frame and the heart at the same time. So, I made two cuts; one from the designer paper, and one from Basic White Cardstock.
The sentiment, shown in the first photo, is from the Friends For Life Stamp Set, and cut with a Friends For Life Die.

This week’s Global Design Project is a fun sketch challenge, and I decided to create a clean & simple birthday card. I began with a background of Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, given texture with the So Swirly Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Vertical Happy Birthday
Full Of Life Designer Paper is great for cheery birthday cards, and I cut one of the colorful patterns in a 3 1/2″ X 3 1/2″ square. Then, I backed it with Basic Black Cardstock, 1/8″ larger, to give it a 1/16″ border that would make the colors pop. After gluing the two together, I attached it to the card front with Dimensionals.

I love this crooked label, cut with a Friends For Life Die. It fit the Global Design Project sketch nicely, with the vertical sentiment. “Happy Birthday” is from the So Sincere Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink on Thick Basic White Cardstock. I attached it with Mini Dimensionals, doubled the ones at the top for extra height support, and tied a bow of Baker’s Twine around the bottom. For some sparkle, I added some Iridescent Adhesive Backed Discs. Aren’t they pretty?
The Friends For Life Bundle was meant to coordinate with the Full Of Life Designer Paper. It’s pictured in my Product List below, and clicking on it will take you to my store for ordering. Don’t miss out on the 20% discount, which is only for the month of June.

Now it’s your turn to get creative, and join this week’s challenge. Scroll down to see the rules.

If you haven’t seen the Encircled In Nature Bundle, you should check it out in my Product List below. And, the great news is, it’s discounted 20% during the month of June!
For today’s card, I used three, Encircled In Nature Dies, to cut the wreath from two designer papers; Country Woods and Perennial Lavender.

Encircled in Thanks
This was followed by cutting leaves, with another Encircled In Nature Die, from Perennial Lavender DSP. The checked paper is also Perennial Lavender, which I used to cut the sentiment label with the smallest Deckled Rectangles Die. After cutting, I stamped “a huge thank you” in Early Espresso Ink, layered it with cardstock for thickness, and placed it on Dimensionals. Prior to attaching the label, I positioned the leaves around it.

Next, I used the largest Deckled Rectangles Die to cut the checked, background paper, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. The last step was embellishing with three, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

Here is the TGIF sketch.

June’s assignment for the 2024 Artisan Design Team was to create projects using the Seaside Wishes Bundle. I paired the amazing sand dollars with my favorite designer paper, Thoughtful Journey.

Seaside Wishes Bundle
The sand dollars on my first card were stamped in Basic Beige Ink on Very Vanilla Cardstock, and run through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, with the dies and the hybrid embossing folder, at the same time. Don’t they look realistic?

I stamped the sentiment in Wild Wheat Ink to match the starfish, and card base, and added three, Blooming Pearls.

The second card features stylized sand dollars and seaweed, cut from Thoughtful Journey Designer Paper.

I stamped the sentiment in Pretty Peacock ink, which matches the 1/16″ border against the Lost Lagoon card base. Flat Pearls completed my design.

Jun 12, 2024 | Gallery, Hand-Crafted Cards, Pals Blog Hop |

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!
This month, the theme is the new 2024-2026 In Colors. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
To show off the 2024-2026 In Colors, I used a pencil from the Trusty Tools Stamp Set, stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used its pencil die for cutting. After cutting the pencils, I colored them with Stampin’ Blends in the five In Colors: Shy Shamrock, Petunia Pop, Peach Pie, Pretty In Pink, and Summer Splash.

Pocketful of Pencils
We actually have a “surprise,” sixth, new color this year, Basic Beige. I used this color for the card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This was layered with a pattern of Country Lace Designer Paper in Basic Beige, cut with the largest Perennial Postage die.

Next, I used the medium Pocket Thoughts Die to cut a pocket from Country Lace Designer Paper. To add distinction to the pocket, I cut a 3/4″ piece of DSP, and glued it to the top.

Prior to gluing the pocket to the card front, I glued the pencils inside. The pocket has score lines for folding, and forms a natural pocket when glued. Really cool!

“Thank you” is from the Trusty Tools Stamp Set, stamped in Basic Beige Ink, for subtlety. To complete my design, I added In Color Shimmer Gems in each of the five colors.

Thank you for visiting!

There’s more inspiration to show you, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. Please mark your calendars for our next blog hop next month, when our theme will be Our Favorites in the New Catalog.
