Stenciling on cards is so much fun, and the Paper Butterfly Accents make beautiful stencils. The butterflies are from the January-April 2024 Mini Catalog, with 40 butterflies in a pack, 8 each of five sizes. I know you will like them, so they are my Host Code Gift for the month of February. See below how you can make them yours!
For today’s design, I held the butterfly in place on Basic White Cardstock, and colored over the butterfly with a Blending Brush and Highland Heather Ink. After coloring, I used the eighth largest Deckled Circles Die for cutting. This was backed with Perennial Lavender Designer Paper cut with the seventh largest Deckled Circles Die, and placed on Dimensionals.

Stenciled Butterfly
For the background, I gave texture to Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, with the Layered Florals Embossing Folder. This was glued to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“For you” was created with the Love For You Dies, a current die set. The words were cut from Perennial Lavender Designer Paper, and backed with Basic White Cardstock die-cuts, before attaching with Dimensionals.
Three, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were placed on the butterfly as a final touch.

Snoozy the Sloth almost missed her chance to design a card. When she wasn’t munching on leaves, she was taking a nap. But, she jumped out of the Jungle Pals Stamp Set just in time today. Snoozy came to life when I stamped her in Memento Black Ink, and colored her with Stampin’ Blends in two colors: Pecan Pie and Crumb Cake.

Snoozy the Sloth
Snoozy said it was easy to choose her background, because Delightful Floral Designer Paper was her favorite. She attached herself with Dimensionals to a circle created with an Everyday Details Die, which was attached to the most delicious leaves. I cut the leafy paper 1/8″ smaller than the Pretty Peacock Cardstock layer beneath it, 3 3/4″ X 5″. The card base is Pool Party Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/.4″.

“Just for you” is from the Adoring Hearts Stamp Set, cut with its Adoring Hearts Die. Snoozy chose it because she wanted to “hang on every word.” Her last request was to add Pool Party hearts. She wanted to add all of them, but I told her three was enough! I think she’s happy; look at her smile.

This week’s Global Design challenge is a sketch, which is always fun. I’m in Valentine-making mode, so the cute bees from the Bee Mine Designer Paper flew onto my card. Yes, I fussy cut them first, and placed them on Dimensionals.
The bee’s background developed from the sketch, with Basic White Cardstock, and Bee Mine Designer Paper, cut with the second largest Deckled Rectangles Die. I glued the designer paper, on an angle, to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

“You Make My Heart Buzz”
Before gluing the Basic White cardstock, I gave it texture with the Layered Flowers Embossing Folder. This made the bees very happy.
The last piece of the sketch was cut from yellow plaid, Bee Mine DSP, cut with the smallest Deckled Rectangles Die.

The sentiment, “you make my heart buzz,” is from the Be My Valentine Stamp Set. I stamped it in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used an Adoring Hearts Die for cutting. Before attaching the heart, I gave it a touch of color with Petal Pink Ink and a Blending Brush.

See how our designers used the sketch, then create your own design, and hang it in our gallery.

We are all Masterfully Made, so it seemed appropriate to use the designer paper by that name for today’s card. I selected one of the patterns, and used a new, wonderful, Lifetime Of Love Die for cutting. You can see the entire bundle in my Product List below.

Lifetime of Faith
After cutting, I noticed that the new, Modern Oval Punch would create an oval that fit perfectly within the Lifetime Of Love die-cut! This discovery caused a huge amount of excitement!!!! You may have to be a Stampin’ Up! enthusiast to understand. You can join the fun by placing an order to discover all of Stampin’ Up’s fabulous products, or CLICK HERE to join my Dream Makers Team.
I found the perfect sentiment, to fit within the oval, in the Courage & Faith Stamp Set. I stamped “May the Lord bless you & keep you, Numbers 6:24” in Fresh Freesia Ink, used the Modern Oval Punch for cutting, and placed it on Dimensionals.

The background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, embossed with the Raindrops Embossing Folder. Doesn’t it look like teardrops, for this sympathy card?

To complete my design, I added flowers and pearls. The flowers were created with Lifetime Of Love Dies, Masterfully Made DSP, and Foam Adhesive Sheets for dimension. And, the pearls are self-adhesive, Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels.

Today’s card is a clean & simple Valentine, using the Adoring Hearts Stamp Set.
I “adore” this heart and sentiment, don’t you? I stamped the heart, and “you are most loved,” in Memento Black Ink on Basic White Cardstock. Then, I colored the heart with Stampin’ Blends in Granny Apple Green and Flirty Flamingo.

Most Adored
After coloring, I used a Garden Meadow Die for cutting. This wonderful arch die is part of an online exclusive set.

Next, I cut a piece of Most Adored Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. This is one of the patterns of a FREE Sale-a-bration item, with a qualifying purchase. Then, I used the same arch die to cut a hole from the center of the designer paper.
After gluing the pink frame to a Thick Basic White card base, I filled in the hole with the stamped & colored, white arch.
For a sweet touch, I added three, Iridescent Pearls.

I’m sharing with TGIF.

Embark on a unique journey around the globe, as the 2024 Artisan Design Team introduce you to their hometown on the Artisan Road Trip. I share my curbside chronicles of San Diego, California here in USA. Having lived here all my life, I give a taste of where I live through the power of papercraft.

San Diego is known for its ideal climate, beautiful beaches, nearby mountains, and deserts. I live in north county, 40 minutes inland from the coast, in a city named Poway. The cards I’m sharing today give you an idea of what you would see on a walk behind my house. I paired each card with a sentiment from the Warm Welcome Stamp Set, expressing friendship, and open arms to guests.

Artisan Design Team Road Trip
I found the beautiful scenes in Meandering Meadows Designer Paper. The circle was cut with an Everyday Details Die.The tiny holes were “begging” for some Linen Thread, and I gave “detail” to the background with additional Everyday Details Dies. “San Diego” was created with the Mini Alphabet Dies, Meandering Meadows DSP, and Foam Adhesive Sheets. I love how you can say anything you want with alphabet dies!

This card shows plein air painting, along the path. The easel is from the Crafting With You Die Set, and the background was cut with a Deckled Rectangles Die. “Life is better when you’re crafting.” Don’t you agree?

This open door gives you a good view of the native, California Poppies. I fussy cut the door from the Warm Welcome Stamp Set, and “paper pieced” inside the frame. The Exposed Brick Embossing Folder gives texture to the background. I put out the “welcome mat” for you!

Thanks for visiting!

I look forward to designing for you each and every month throughout this year and hope you’ll join me. Continue on the Artisan Road Trip to another curbside, in another town and learn a little about where we each live and design from. Enjoy the ride.
