For today’s card, I used the challenge at Freshly Made Sketches for inspiration.

Meadow in Blue
I began with a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.
Next, I used the fourth largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut a blue piece of Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper. Then, I stamped the wonderful, wild flower stamp in Night Of Navy Ink on the blue paper. Can you see the clouds? I layered this with Thick Basic White Cardstock, so it would be sturdy atop Foam Adhesive Strips, which I used to raise it.

Prior to attaching the raised panel, I stamped a large, single flower in Night Of Navy Ink in the corner of the Largest Stitched Rectangle.

All I needed was a small sentiment, which I found in the Sweet As A Peach Stamp Set. I stamped “To a sweet friend!” in Night Of Navy Ink, and used a Peach Die for cutting.
Four Artistry Blooms Self-Adhesive Sequins were the final touch, and super easy to apply. The sequins happen to be my “host code” gift this month, and you can read below how to receive them.

Here is my inspiration from Freshly Made Sketches.

Okay, more Rainbow Glimmer Paper is on my next order! Isn’t the seahorse pretty in sparkling shades of blue and green?
I began today’s card with a square design in mind, so cut the card base from Bermuda Bay Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 4 1/4″, folded at 4 1/4″. Then, I used a Sea Life Die to cut the seahorse from Rainbow Glimmer Paper. This paper worked so well with the fish a few days ago, I HAD to use it with the seahorse.
I just glued his head, belly, and tail (the largest sections), and left the rest of his sturdy self free.

Rainbow Seahorse
His background is Basic White Cardstock, 4″ X 4″, embossed with the Seashells Embossing Folder. I think he’s happy with his setting.

Since the seahorse is really cool, I stamped, “you’re so cool,” in Bermuda Bay Ink on Basic White Cardstock. This sentiment is in the Sweet Ice Cream Stamp Set.
It was fun using the Double Oval Punch for cutting, giving it the scalloped border of Rainbow Glimmer Paper, and attaching it with a double layer of Dimensionals.

The Opal Rounds completed my underwater scene. These pretty dots of sparkle are retiring June 30, so order them while they’re available. Clicking on them in my Product List will take you to my store for purchasing.

I was inspired by the square card design at Fab Friday.

And, the summer theme at the Paper Players.

When making die-cuts, you end up with “negative space” that often gets tossed in the trash. But, today’s card is a result of using that “trash” from yesterday’s cards. Yes, cards, plural, because I made two cards from one die-cut (twofer), and now this is the third (threefer). The fun never ends!

“Negative Space” Fancy Fold
The swooping leaves were cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock (3″ X 5 1/4″), using a die from the Artistic Set. You can see the complete set in my Product List below.
If you missed yesterday’s cards, you can click here to see my blog post.

Stenciling “twofer”
Because the leaves fit perfectly on one side of the card front, I decided to chop off 1 1/8″ on the right side, turning it into a fancy fold. After gluing the “cut out” leaves to the card front, I embossed it with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.
Next, I stamped “Happy Birthday in Misty Moonlight Ink on Basic White Cardstock, and used an Ornate Layers Die for cutting. This vertical sentiment is from the Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set, and the reason I purchased it, but I’m loving the other images. You should check it out in my Product List.

Beauty Of The Earth Designer Paper was used on the inside, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and Basic White Cardstock, 3″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I backed “Happy Birthday” with the leafy pattern by using the same die for cutting. The sentiment pieces were glued together, and glued to the back of the card front, along the edge.

To bring out the blue, and have a bit more detail, I added a butterfly. It was cut with a Brilliant Wings Die from Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper.
Very easy fancy fold, huh?

Jun 9, 2021 | Gallery, Hand-Crafted Cards, Pals Blog Hop |

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Fun Ways to Use Your Stampin’ Up! Products” where we show our favorite product tips. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
First of all, I love to stencil on cards, because it’s so much fun! Today’s project shows how I used a die as a stencil, and made a “twofer” (two for one).

Stenciling “twofer”
I began with one of the fabulous, Artistic Dies, the swooping leaves, cut from Thick Basic White Cardstock, 3″ X 5 1/4″.

While holding the die-cut leaves in place, on Basic White Cardstock (4″ X 5 1/4″) I applied a rainbow of color with Blending Brushes. Starting at the top: Gorgeous Grape, Polished Pink, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, and Bermuda Bay.
The stencil moved while changing colors, but I was able to re-position it before brushing on the next color.

After coloring, I glued my rainbow leaves layer to a Smoky Slate card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
Now, all I needed was a sentiment, and I used the words, “love you” from the Love You More Than Die Set. I cut the words from Basic White Cardstock and Smoky Slate Cardstock, glued them together, and then glued them to the card front. You can barely see the Smoky Slate layer, but I like the distinction it gives to the words.

While completing the first card, I was planning the second one, because I had been looking at the gorgeous, die-cut, rainbow leaves. I glued them to Basic White Cardstock, cut with an Ornate Layers Die, the one that’s 2 1/2″ X 5 1/2″. The stems and base of the leaves were glued, while leaving most of the leaves free to lift.
Next, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) embossed with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.

This sentiment is from the Beauty Of Friendship Stamp Set. I stamped “Thinking of you” in Smoky Slate Ink, cut with a Beautiful Trees Die, and attached with Mini Dimensionals.
I had to add a touch of sparkle with Artistry Blooms Sequins, because the colors were perfect!

There was still one piece remaining from my die-cut, that I didn’t toss in the trash. Remember the original 3″ X 5 1/4″ Thick Basic White Cardstock? Come back tomorrow to see my third card. I guess you could call it a “threefer?”
Thank you for hopping by. I hope you enjoyed my instructions. You’ll find the supplies I used for today’s project in my Product List below.

“Friends are like seashells…you collect them along the way.” Isn’t that a great sentiment? It’s in the Friends Are Like Seashells Stamp Set, a favorite from the January-June Mini Catalog, that’s carrying over to the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. Yay!

Friends and Shells
I was inspired by the colors at TGIF.

First, I cut the card base from Basic Gray Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, and used the Seashells Embossing Folder to emboss the card front. Then, I use a Nature’s Thoughts Die to cut a rectangle from Night Of Navy cardstock, and glued it to the center of the card front.

Next, I stamped the large shell in Night of Navy Ink on Basic White Cardstock, added a touch of Smoky Slate with a Stampin’ Blend, and used my Paper Snips for cutting. Then, I stamped the sand dollar and starfish in Basic Gray Ink, and used their Seaside Shell Dies for cutting. The seaweed was cut from Basic Gray Cardstock, using the large die you see in the first photo, from which I snipped a bit of seaweed to place around the shells.
I glued the sand dollar and seaweed flat, and attached the large shell and starfish with Dimensionals.

“Friends are like seashells…you collect them along the way,” was stamped in Basic Gray Ink, and cut with two Stitched Rectangles Dies; one that fit the words vertically, and one to shorten the rectangle horizontally.
Lastly, I embellished the scene with Opal Rounds. These pretty dots of sparkle are retiring June 30, so order them while they’re available. Clicking on them in my Product List will take you to my store for purchasing.

The Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set may be the hidden gem in the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog. I HAD to have it because of the vertical “Happy Birthday,” but I’ve fallen in love with the flower. It would be wonderful to have a garden filled with these flowers, so I chose it for today’s Global Design Project.

“stamped-off” flowers
What flowers would you like to grow in your garden? We’d love to see your creation hanging in our gallery.

I began by stamping three of the tall, stems with leaves, in Pear Pizzazz Ink on Basic White Cardstock, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. The first stem, in the middle, was stamped in full strength, followed by two stems, stamped without re-inking. This is referred to as “stamping off.”
Next, I stamped the flower in Bumblee Ink, using the same “stamping off” technique. However, I stamped the middle, full strength, flower on a separate piece of paper, cut with scissors, and placed it on Dimensionals. The stamen was stamped in Real Red Ink, in the same manner. Isn’t it cute?

After stamping the flowers, I cut the layer with the largest Ornate Layers Die. You know I love this border! Then, I glued it to a Mossy Meadow card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

The sentiment, “May your day be filled with Sunshine” is also from the Celebrate With Flowers Stamp Set, stamped in Old Olive Ink. I used a Potted Succulents Die for cutting, which fit the space perfectly. Before attaching the label with Dimensionals, I added a loop of Bumblebee Gingham Trim. And, I completed the card with a Bumblebee Trinket, fastened with a Glue Dot.

Let’s see what’s in store for June.
