Forever Fern Hello

I began by stamping the splotch from the Waterfront StampSet in Blushing Bride Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. I “stamped off” the splotch twice, and stamped the dots full strength. Can you see the images I used?

Next, I stamped the same splotch on Whisper White Cardstock with Soft Sea Foam Ink, and used the Forever Flourishing Die for cutting the branch.

“Hello” is from the Forever Fern Stamp Set, stamped in Pretty Peacock Ink , and cut with an Ornate Frames Die. The little hole in the die-cut was perfect for tying Baker’s Twine.

I adhered my art piece to a Soft Sea Foam card base, and my Forever Fern sneak peek was complete.

My layout was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch.

And, the colors are from Global Design Project.

Forever Greenery Sneak Peek

Today’s “clean & simple” masculine card is giving you a sneak peek of three new, 2020-2021 products. Actually, four, if you count the DSP I’m using for photography. It’s from In Good Taste, and I can’t say enough about how fabulous it is. There’s a great variety (24 sheets) of photographed images, and it was at the top of my list!

By Su Mohr for FMS and PP; Click READ or VIST to go to my blog for details! Forever Greenery for Guys

First of all, the card base is a new color, Misty Moonlight.  I combined it with a stripe of Forever Greenery Designer Paper, using four strips that I cut with my Stampin’ Trimmer. I glued three strips at an angle, as shown, and one horizontal strip underneath the middle, angled strip.

The entire collection of DSP is absolutely yummy! There  is a question mark in my Product List below, but if you click on it, you can see all of the luscious designs.

The strips are glued to a Whisper White Cardstock layer that I embossed with the new Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder. I remember saying someone needed to take the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder away from me, because I used it so much. I think I can finally let go of it, because this beauty is going to become a fast favorite!

“Happy Birthday” is from the Well Said Stamp Set, Stamped in Night of Navy Ink, and cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die. I placed it on Mini-Dimensionals and my “clean & simple,” masculine birthday card was complete.

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches for the layout.

And, the Paper Players for a “clean & simple” card with men in mind.

Watercolor Inspiration

I was excited to get started on today’s card with two challenges in mind.

By Su Mohr for Fusion and TGIF; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set, Sweet Silhouettes Dies, Stitched Rectangles Dies, Ornate Frames Dies, Watercolor Paper; #silhouettescenes #sweetsilhouettes #watercolor #watercoloring #cardchallenges #colorcombos #inspiration #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy#cardmaking #papercrafting #

You inspire me

The first thing I did was cut a 4″ X 1 1/2″ piece of Watercolor Paper. Then, I used three ink colors (Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, and Flirty Flamingo) with my Aqua Painter to paint the paper.

TIP: I started on the left side and painted across, cleaning my brush between colors, so I wouldn’t contaminate my ink pads.

I cut the Watercolor Paper larger than I needed, and glued it to a 4″ X 5 1/4″ Whisper White layer. I did this so the Stitched Rectangles Die would give a nice, even border. This is the second to largest die.

Next, I cut a Sweet Silhouettes tree branch from Watercolor Paper, and used the same painting method as the strip. TIP: I made sure the cut was straight, so the tree would be flush to the strip.

The sentiment, “You inspire me” is from the Silhouette Scenes Stamp Set, stamped in Memento Black Ink, and cut with an Ornate Frames Die.

Notice how the colors match the Woven Threads Sequins perfectly. These things make me very happy!

I was inspired by two challenges: Fusion (sketch and photo)

And, TGIF (watercolor)

Masculine Argyle Birthday Card

It’s time for another masculine birthday card!

By Su Mohr for GDP; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Painted Label Dies, Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, Absolutely Argyle embossing; #birthdaycards #masculinecards #masculinebirthday #cardchallenges #colorcombos #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #peacefulmoments #paintedlabeldies

Argyle Birthday

I think guys like gray, so I chose Smoky Slate for the card base. Then, I added a 1 1/2″ X 5 1/4″ strip of Smoky Slate to the Whisper White Cardstock layer. For some reason, guys also seem to like argyle (think socks), so I embossed the strip with the Absolutely Argyle Embossing Folder.

“Happy Birthday” is from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, stamped in Melon Mambo Ink, and cut with a Painted Labels Die. Don’t you love this circular die-cut?

The confetti was made with a Dino Die and three colors of cardstock scraps: Smoky Slate, Melon Mambo, and Pool Party. The Dino Die cut out a bunch of little triangles, and I adhered them with pin dots of Liquid Glue. Thinking men can deal with some shine, I added three silver, sequin, stars.

I was inspired by Global Design Project.

Basket Bouquet for the Pals Blog Hop

Hello, welcome to the Pals Blog Hop! This month our theme is “Goodbye to January-June Mini and 2019-2020 Annual Catalogs and Hello to 2020-2021 Annual Catalog” where the Design Team is showcasing their favorites from the retiring catalogs or products in the new catalog! You’ll find the full line-up below to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Today’s card includes bits and pieces of some favorite retiring items along with continuing 2020-2021 Annual Catalog items. The retiring items are the first six in my Product List below. The remaining items are in the new 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.

By Su Mohr for the Pals Blog Hop; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: First Frost Stamp Set, Frosted Bouquet Dies, Painted Label Dies, Ornate layers Dies, Coastal Weave embossing; #fowersoncards #basketofflowers #basketbouquet #friendshipcards #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #cardmaking #papercrafting #stampinup #bloghops

Basket Bouquet

Three dies in this photo were used to make the foliage and flowers. They are from one of my favorite retiring sets, Frosted Bouquet Dies.  The coordinating, First Frost Stamp Set, was used to stamp the flowers in Rococo Rose Ink on Whisper White Cardstock. The stalk with leaves was stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink, and the Baby’s Breath was cut from Whisper White Cardstock.

My friend, Peggy Noe, recently made a flower basket that gave me the idea for this one. I thought this Painted Labels Die looked like a basket, especially when cut from Crumb Cake Cardstock, and embossed with the Coastal Weave Embossing Folder.

TIP: I attached the basket with glue on the bottom and sides, leaving the top open, and slightly bowed, for arranging the bouquet.

The basket was completed with Linen Thread around the top, and a tag made with another favorite,  retiring, stamp and die set, Beautiful Bouquet and Bouquet Bunch.

The background of Whisper White Cardstock was embossed with the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, and I used the Detailed Trio Punch to round the corners.

Beneath the white layer is gingham from 2019-2021 In Color 6X6 DSP, cut with an Ornate Layers Die. I used an Ornate Borders Die to give the basket a place to rest.

TIP: Because the Ornate Borders Die is long and skinny, I used Washi Tape to hold it in place while running it through the die cutting machine.

Thank you for blog hopping with me today. I’m eagerly awaiting the arrival of new products from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog, and I’ll be giving you some “sneak peeks” soon!

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for June 10th, with our theme “New 2020-2022 In Colors.” We can’t wait to show you the newest In Colors in the Stampin’ Up! color family. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.

Butterfly Wishes In Sepia

The Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set has beautiful butterflies with a 3D effect, and the one I chose for The Sisterhood of Crafters Design Team theme. Can you guess? It’s birds, bees and butterflies!

By Su Mohr for The Sisterhood of Crafters Design Team; Click READ or VISIT to go to my blog for details! Featuring: Butterfly Wishes Stamp Set,Sweet Silhouettes Dies; #stenciling #stencilingtechnique #cardtechniques #sepia #monochromatic #butterflywishes #butterflies #butterfliesoncards #cardthemes #sweetsilhouettes #handmadecards #handcrafted #diy #papercrafting

Sepia Butterflies

I began today’s sepia creation with a stenciled “shrub” for the butterflies. The shrub is actually a tree from the Sweet Silhouettes Die Set, which I cut from Cardstock. Then, using it as a stencil, I placed the tree on Very Vanilla Cardstock, and “sponge daubed” Soft Suede Ink on top.

Next, I stamped three butterflies from Butterfly Wishes; two directly on the card front, and the third on a separate piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Sticking with the monochromatic theme, I used Soft Suede Ink. The Butterfly Duet Punch was used for cutting the third butterfly, which I placed on a Dimensional for true 3D flying.

The sentiment is also from Butterfly Wishes, “It was a perfect day because of you,” also stamped in Soft Suede Ink.
