A large circle makes a great focal point, and today it’s filled with Poinsettias. I cut the poinsettias from Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, using the largest, plain, Layering Circles Die. Then, I used the largest, scalloped, Layering Circles Die to cut Garden Green Cardstock, glued them together, and placed my circle on Dimensionals.

Circle of Poinsettias
The card base is Cherry Cobbler Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. This is layered with two sections of cardstock. The top Garden Green layer is 4″ X 2″, layered with Basic White, 3 7/8″ X 1 7/8″. The bottom Garden Green layer is 4″ X 3″, layered with Basic White, 3 7/8″ X 2 7/8″.
Prior to gluing the layers together, the Basic White Cardstock layers were embossed with a Wintry Embossing Folder.

I found the sentiment, “Merry Christmas,” in the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set, which was just the right size to fit the Double Oval Punch. After stamping it in Cherry Cobbler Ink on Basic White Cardstock, I attached it with Dimensionals. Quick and easy, huh?

I was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

The Rays Of Light background stamp was backordered for a while, but it is available now. It’s such an interesting design, and so easy to use.

Rays of Love & Hope
I placed the large stamp on my Stamparatus lid, inked it with Balmy Blue Ink, and pressed it onto Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/2″ X 4 1/4″. After stamping, I cut the design to 3 3/4″ X 5″, and glued it to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. You could simplify this further by stamping directly on the card base.

The sentiment, “with love & hope,” is from the Hope & Peace Stamp Set, stamped in Night Of Navy Ink. I used the second smallest, Stylish Shapes, circle die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

To add some sparkle to the rays, I used pin dots of glue to attach For Everything Fancy Sequins. Don’t you love the variety?

Can you believe it’s the first day of November? How about some metallic shine on a holiday card; ready to send for Thanksgiving or Christmas! The glistening bough was cut from Rose Gold Foil with a Decorated Pines Die.

Metallics and Texture
Next, I used the fourth largest Deckled Rectangles Dies to cut Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, and the third largest to cut Splendid Day Designer Paper. I also embossed the copper colored foil with the Hive Embossing Folder.

The card base is Thick Basic White Cardstock, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. For additional texture, I embossed the card front with the Painted Texture Embossing Folder.

“From our home to yours” is from the Leaves Of Holly Stamp Set, stamped in Early Espresso Ink, cut with the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die, and attached with Dimensionals.

I was inspired by The Paper Players, and used a diagonal row: metallic-texture-stitching.

This week’s Global Design Project is a “tree” theme. See what our designers created, then play along with us, and hang your design in our gallery.

Trees are a wonderful image on cards year-round, and Christmas trees are my favorite. As a child, my family would decorate a live tree two weeks before Christmas, a very exciting time!

Trees on a hill
The trees on today’s card are from the Regal Reindeer die set, cut from three colors of cardstock: Garden Green, Mint Macaron, and Pear Pizzazz.
I cut the snowy slope from Basic White Cardstock, 5 1/4 X 4″, using a Split Textures Die. This was glued to a Pool Party card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Prior to gluing, I stamped the bunny in Basic Gray Ink. He is from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set, and isn’t he darling? The sentiment, “Merry Christmas,” is also from the Regal Reindeer Stamp Set, and stamped in Basic Gray Ink. I used the Double Oval Punch for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.
After attaching the trees with Dimensionals, I scattered For Everything Fancy Sequins in green, pink, white, silver, and gold. This was the most time consuming part of the card, but worth the sparkle, don’t you think? I used the Take Your Pick tool to pick up the sequins, which helped tremendously. You can read about it in my Product List below.

Keep your eyes peeled for gnomes running around this time of year!
This gnome’s playground is Basic White Cardstock, cut with the largest Scalloped Contours Die, and embossed with the Whimsical Woodland Embossing Folder. This seems perfect for a gnome, don’t you think? After embossing, I glued the layer to a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.

Candy Cane Gnome
The gnome was easy to make with Gnome Dies. I first cut his beard and nose from Basic White Cardstock. Then, I colored his nose with an Ivory Stampin’ Blend, and glued it in place. Next, I cut his hat from Painted Christmas Designer Paper, and pants/shoes from Crumb Cake Cardstock. After gluing his hat and pants, I placed him on Dimensionals.

The real fun was adding a candy cane and mistletoe from the Sweet Candy Canes Bundle. I stamped the candy cane in Real Red Ink, and the mistletoe in Garden Green Ink, and used their Candy Cane Dies for cutting.

The sentiment that pulls it all together is from the Sweet Candy Canes Stamp Set. I stamped “candy cane wishes & mistletoe kisses” in Garden Green Ink, used a Potted Succulents die for cutting, and attached it with Dimensionals.

Who needs black ink when you have Stampin’ Up’s coordinating ink colors?

Today’s card began with the idea of gold leaves, and I used two Holly Berry Dies to cut from Splendid Day Designer Paper. If you look at this specialty paper in my Product List below, you can see how the foils shine.
When attaching the leaves, I glued the inside half, and left the outside half to lift over the frame.

Holly Framed Wishes
The frame was cut with two Framed Florets Dies, an early release set that will be available November 1. I used the smaller oval to cut the center from Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Then, I used the fancy oval to cut Mossy Meadow Cardstock.

The sentiment, “wishing you a season decorated with happiness and wonder,” is from the Decorated With Happiness Stamp Set, stamped in Mossy Meadow Ink. I used my Stamparatus for positioning on a Thick Basic White card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″.
The berries were cut with two Holly Berry Dies from Boughs Of Holly Designer Paper, and attached with Dimensionals.
