For those who love traditional, red & green Christmas cards, the Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper is for you! Today’s card combines it with the In The Pines Stamp Set. I began with a Mossy Meadow card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″) topped with one of the twelve designs of Heartwarming Hugs Designer Paper (5 1/4″ X 4″). I added a second layer of tiny dots to frame the pine trees (4 1/4″ X 3″).

Trio of Trees
Next, I stamped three trees from In The Pines on Whisper White Cardstock. I used Garden Green Ink, but I wasn’t thinking, and should have used Mossy Meadow Ink, because it coordinates with the designer paper. But, you probably can’t tell the difference, so no biggie, right?
The trees have a stamp that colors them, which I stamped using Pear Pizzazz Ink. You can view the complete stamp set in my Product List to better understand what I mean.
Then, I used a Stitched Rectangles Die (1″ X 2 1/4″) to cut the three trees, and I placed them in the middle of the dotted paper. I glued the middle tree first, which helped make the borders even, and the dots can be used to keep the rectangles straight.

The sentiment, “Christmas Cheer” is from the Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set. I stamped it in Real Red Ink on Thick Whisper White Cardstock, used the smallest Stitched Rectangles Die for cutting, and attached it with Mini Dimensionals. If you have the supplies in my Product List, this would be a “quick & easy” card.

Now it’s your turn to be inspired by this weeks Global Design Project sketch. Come play along by hanging your card in our gallery.

I’m happy to say I was invited to join Sara Levin’s Stamping Sunday Blog Hop, which happens the second Sunday of every month. For today’s hop I’m sharing the Snow Wonder Stamp Set with the adorable snowman, and ways it can be enhanced with texture. I also want to show how the stamp set can be enjoyed by three types of stampers: beginner, casual and avid.
The supplies for all three cards are in my Product List below.

Beginner, Casual, Avid
Let’s begin with the “beginner’s” card on the left, using only six products. First, I stamped the Snow Wonder snowman in Misty Moonlight Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, 3 1/2″ X 4 3/4″. The sentiment, also from the Snow Wonder Stamp Set, was stamped beneath the snowman in the same color ink.

Next, the really fun part of adding texture with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder. I remember when I was a beginner, it was so much fun, I wanted to emboss everything. I still do! And, you can see, it didn’t distort the sentiment.
I glued my snowman layer to Plaid Tidings Designer Paper, 4″ X 5 1/4″, which I glued to the Seaside Spray card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Wasn’t this “quick and easy?”

The card on the right is for a casual stamper, using ten products. This time, I began with the Sahara Sand card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with a layer of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock that I cut with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die. I used the second largest Stitched Rectangles Die to cut a layer from Plaid Tidings Designer Paper.

Next, I stamped the snowman in Early Espresso Ink, and the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler Ink on the plaid paper. I used Cherry Cobbler and Call Me Clover Stampin’ Blends to color the holly on the snowman’s hat. Just this bit of color adds a lot, don’t you think?
After gluing the layers together, I added some texture by tying some Linen Thread around the card front. This card wasn’t difficult either, but required a few more products.

The middle card, for avid stampers, required fifteen products, including Dimensionals. I began with a Crumb Cake card base, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, topped with a layer of Whisper White cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″. Before gluing the white layer to the card base, I stamped the sentiment in Cherry Cobbler Ink, and embossed the layer with the Winter Snow Embossing Folder.
“Most wonderful time of the year” is from the Festive Corners Stamp Set. Don’t you love the way it goes around the corner?

Since this is a card for avid stampers, I couldn’t wait to put my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine to use with some die cuts. First, I stamped the snowman in Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and used his Snow Time Die for cutting. A touch of color was added to the snowman’s scarf and hat with Stampin’ Blends. Then, I stamped the trees in Shaded Spruce Ink, and used their die for cutting.
I created the snow drift with a die from the Pine Woods die set, and used the Old World Paper Embossing Folder for texture. The snowman, trees, and snow drift were placed on Dimensionals, and my card was complete.

For more inspiration, the Stamping Sunday designers are excited to share their ideas with you. Clicking on their names will take you to their blogs.

How do you like Charlotte’s spooky Halloween card? I hope you do, because she worked hard convincing me to help her make it.
Charlotte came to life from the Little Treat Box Die Set and Basic Black Cardstock. I must say, she is the cutest paper spider I have ever seen!

Charlotte’s Card
We began with a Basic Black card base to match Charlotte, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″. Next, I cut a scary, gray piece of In Good Taste Designer Paper, 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″, and glued this to the same size piece of Whisper White Cardstock. Then, I cut the tile wall, which is the backside of the scary gray paper, 4 1/4″ X 3″, and glued this, as shown.
This is when Charlotte scurried away, because she was afraid of getting smashed in the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine, saying once was enough. So, I proceeded, alone, cutting the designer paper with the largest Stitched Rectangles Die.
But, she quickly reappeared to make certain I didn’t forget the Metallic Mesh Ribbon, saying, “everyone knows Charlotte needs a web!” We taped it to the back of the designer paper, before attaching it to the card base, and Charlotte hopped on to do what spiders do best.

Charlotte wanted to write the sentiment in orange to make sure everyone knew this was a Halloween card, and I agreed. “Spooky” is from the Festive Corners Stamp Set, stamped in Pumpkin Pie Ink on Whisper White Cardstock, and cut with an Ornate Layers Die.
Surprisingly, a friend from the Little Treats Stamp Set appeared, just as we were attaching the sentiment with Dimensionals, and Charlotte’s card was complete.

I was inspired by CAS(E) this sketch.

Queen Anne’s Lace is so pretty, and because the stamp set is FREE with September’s ULTIMATE STARTER KIT, I was eager to try an alternative design. You’ll find details of the ULTIMATE STARTER KIT below.

Queen Anne’s Lace
I began by pulling together the same colors that are in the “Get & Go” Starter Kit Promotion: Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green, and my favorite, Whisper White. Have you noticed that white makes all colors look yummy?
First, I stamped the colored portion of the flowers in Coastal Cabana Ink in the two corners. Next, I stamped the detailed flowers in Granny Apple Green Ink on top. I tried it the other way around, but liked the results better in this order. You have to be okay with it not matching exactly, and I like the artistic flair it gives. There’s a picture of the stamp set in my Product List, which will help with my explanation.

The Whisper White Cardstock is 4″ X 5 1/2″, a quarter inch longer than the usual layer, to accommodate the Ornate Layers Die, which I used after stamping the flowers.
The card base is Coastal Cabana, 8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″, with a Daffodil Delight strip across the middle. This touch of yellow cardstock is 4 1/4″ X 3/4″, and embossed with the Tasteful Textile Embossing Folder.

I stamped the sentiment, “Celebrating all the wonderful things about you!” in Bermuda Bay Ink, and used an Ornate Frames Die for cutting. A second Ornate Frames Died was used for the fancy frame. After gluing the two together, I attached the sentiment between the flowers with Dimensionals.

My layout was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches.

Everyone knows that blowing on a dandelion makes wishes come true, right?
This is the first time I’ve inked up the Dandelions Embossing Folder, and I mean that literally. Let’s call this the “ink to embossing folder” technique, because that’s exactly how I created today’s card.

Dandelion Wishes
I used two Stampin’ Write Markers, Soft Suede and Granny Apple Green, and colored the indented side of the embossing folder. I used the brush side of the markers, and was careful not to go beyond the debossed image.

Next, I cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock, 4″ X 5 1/4″, and laid it on the non-inked side of the embossing folder. Then, I carefully closed the folder, and ran it through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I repeated with a second piece of cardstock (because I was experimenting), and I like this “stamped off,” lighter version better.
To clean the embossing folder, you simply let cold water run over it, and dry it with a towel.

The sentiment, “wishes,” was cut with a Well Written Die and Blushing Bride Cardstock, that I placed on a Foam Adhesive Sheet. I matched the word to the Blushing Bride card base (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″).

I was inspired by the colors at TGIF.

Sep 9, 2020 | Gallery, Hand-Crafted Cards, Pals Blog Hop |

Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team created projects where “It’s the Sentiment that Counts.” We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
My picture taking spot was dappled with sunlight this morning. Since we are focusing on the sentiment, I thought the lighting was perfect for my word, “Thanksgiving.”

Thanksgiving Wreath
“Thanksgiving” is from the Word Wishes Dies set, cut from Brushed Metallic Paper. To give the word dimension, I adhered the Brushed Metallic Paper to a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet, before rolling it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I had to “fiddle” with the word to remove some tiny pieces, and was careful not to lose those two little dots in “giving.” But, I feel it was worth the effort.

I thought the wreath from the Arrange a Wreath Bundle, would make a nice home for my word, “Thanksgiving.” I began by stamping the wreath, from the Arrange a Wreath Stamp Set, in VersaMark on Whisper White Cardstock (4 X 5 1/4″). Then, I sprinkled it with Gold Embossing Powder, and set it with the Heat Tool. If you haven’t tried this, you should! I never tire of watching the dull powder turn to shine.
Next, I used a Wreath Builder Die to cut a circle of leaves from Whisper White Cardstock, and glued this on top of the gold embossed wreath. To add some Fall color I stamped leaves and berries in three ink colors: Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, and Cajun Craze, three of each, and used their dies for cutting. Alternating the colors, I attached them with Mini Dimensionals, which fit the small leaves perfectly.
Lastly, I added a double bow of Linen Thread, matching the card base of Crumb Cake, (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″, folded at 4 1/4″).

Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate you visiting me!

More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 14th when our theme is “Tag, You’re It!” Participants will showcase tags or 3D items that will be great for gifts for any occasion. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft room.
